Our annual Thanksgiving Feast- we are truly so grateful for all of you! Our annual Thanksgiving Feast- we are truly so grateful for all of you!

Dear Families,

We shared such a delicious Thanksgiving meal this past Wednesday. It was wonderful that so many of you could join us. True to form, Kathleen outdid herself to prepare the meal for her new community - a Herculean task to be sure. Thanks also to Brea and Tim and staff members who helped with prep and service, and to Monte and the 4/5 students who helped set up the tables. In addition to great food and conversation, we also enjoyed a musical interlude. Finn Castle played a beautiful and complex clarinet solo, accompanied by Kate Quayle, and the 4/5 chorus performed two songs under the direction of Sarah Metcalf. The gathering truly exemplified the warmth of the school community. Thanks to all of you for the loving support of the school.

2/3 Natural History Museum: Mel Kobelin’s class hosted a museum walk for the other classes and families on Thursday. For the past six weeks the 2-3 students were deeply involved in a study of fossils and what those fossils could teach about pre-historic life on Earth. They made fossil models, created a timeline, and wrote informational books about trilobites, saber tooth tigers, seismosauruses, and more. It was lovely that so many of you could visit the museum.

Lunch help: We need lunch help the week after vacation - Wednesday and Thursday (12/3-4). Please look ahead for dates in December and January and email me or sign up directly on the calendar if you can help out. Thanks so much. Rachel will send an email out with the new lunch menu after break and it can then be accessed in our future newsletters.

Picture Retakes: December 1st, the Monday after break, will be picture retakes. Please reach out to Rachel at rchapman@acsdvt.org if you would like your child's photo retaken. Thanks!

Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or call if you have any questions (802-545-3301).

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break.

Best, Christina

Wellness Policy Committee

The charge of the Wellness Policy Working Group is to monitor, support, and evaluate the implementation of Addison Central School District’s local wellness policy (C9). The working group will assess the policy’s impact on student health, nutrition, and overall well-being, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements as well as district priorities. The group will provide recommendations for policy adjustments and implementation strategies to ensure that the district fosters environments that promote healthy lifestyles and student success. We welcome students, staff, families, and community members who are passionate about wellness to join our group. Please reach out to Dr. Sonya Oefelein at soefelein@acsdvt.org for more information or to join our next meeting.
