PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
Granada community,
Get ready to show off your creativity and school pride—Spirit Week is just around the corner! We have an exciting lineup of daily themes, and we can't wait to see everyone participate. Here is the schedule for the week:
Monday – Cozy Sweater Day: Kick off the week by wearing your favorite cozy fall sweater.
Tuesday – Rhyme Without Reason Day: Pair up with a partner or go solo in outfits that rhyme but make no sense together (think: rockstar and lobster, or chef and ref)!
Wednesday – Meme Day: Dress up as your absolute favorite internet meme.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday (2016 Edition): Travel back ten years and break out your best 2016 fashion trends.
Friday – Halloween Costume Day: Show up in your Halloween costume to wrap up the week! Please ensure all costumes align with our standard school dress code and safety guidelines (see below).
Let’s make this a fun, vibrant, and memorable week.
Go mats!

Halloween Costume Protocols
With Halloween approaching, I wanted to send a quick reminder about our District's Halloween costume protocols. If you haven't already done so, please share these guidelines with your families, along with any school-specific information regarding Halloween parades, celebrations, or other activities.
District Halloween Costume Protocols:
No weapons or replica weapons
No blood or gore
No skates or roller blades
Costume masks may be worn during parades only
In addition, all costumes must comply with the District's student dress code policy (AR 5332), which states:
"Clothing, accessories, and jewelry shall be free of writing, pictures, symbols or any other insignia which are crude, vulgar, profane, obscene, libelous, slanderous, or sexually suggestive. Clothing, accessories, or jewelry that degrade any cultural, religious, or ethnic values, that advocate racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice or discrimination, or that promote sex, the use of tobacco, drugs, or alcohol, or any unlawful acts are prohibited."

AP Testing
Beginning Monday, September 14, students enrolled in AP classes will begin registering for AP exams. The fee for each AP exam is $130.00.
Registration is a two-step process:
- Register and purchase the exams through the Total Registration website (www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/051423). Exam fees will be paid online during the registration process so be sure to have a debit card or credit card available beforehand. Total Registration will provide the course specific join code and directions on how to complete step 2 at the completion of the registration process.
- If you have not already done so, join the class in College Board using the join code provided by Total Registration or your teacher. Students must be enrolled in AP Classroom for an exam to be ordered for them. It is required. Students may have completed this step already with the teacher so please double check that the student is enrolled in every course that they are purchasing an exam for.
There will be two ordering windows based on when your AP course starts (semester 1 or semester 2):
- For courses beginning in semester 1, the exam ordering window is September 14 - October 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm. A late fee of $40, per exam, will be applied to semester 1 orders placed between October 31 - February 26, 2027. This includes all “Exam Only” exams.
- For courses beginning in semester 2, the ordering window is September 14, 2026 - February 26, 2027.
- The final deadline to order any exams is February 26, 2027. Students will not be able to order exams after this date.
For additional information regarding the 2027 exam administration and exam schedule, please visit the AP Exam Overview on College Board.
If you have any specific questions, please email the GHS AP Coordinator at ghsapcoordinator@lvjusd.org.

opportunity are invited to attend an upcoming informational meeting with their families.
During the meeting, families will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed
itinerary, experiences in Spain, program costs and payment options, safety, enrollment,
and other trip details.
If you are interested in learning more, please register for the informational meeting here:

Participation is entirely optional. Sharing this information school-wide is intended to
ensure that the opportunity to learn about the program is available to all interested
students and families.
