Please Vote for GSA Middle Teacher of the Year 2024-2025

Dear GSA Family,

It is that time of the year again to recognize the exceptional efforts of our teachers! Although we have many teachers who are outstanding, inspiring, and dedicated to learning, we have narrowed our Teacher of the Year to three finalists and need your help to choose our Teacher of the Year!

Our finalists are:

Mr. Dan Hlinak: 7th Grade Social Studies and 7th Grade Co-Chair

Mrs. Ashleigh Moffit-Brunngraber: Band, Drama, and Music

Mrs. Megan Nivin: 8th Grade Math, 7th Grade Pre-Algebra, and 8th Grade Co-Chair

Please complete this form by Wednesday, January 22, 2025 and let us know why the teacher you chose should be the GSA Middle School Teacher of the Year.

Welcome Our Newest SPED Teacher, Mrs. Hunt!

We are thrilled to introduce our newest teacher, Mrs. Hunt. Mrs. Hunt brings an incredible 31 years of experience in education, including 19 years as a Social Studies teacher and 12 years in Special Education.

A proud St. Louis native and Mizzou graduate, Mrs. Hunt is also a dedicated parent of two children. Her youngest will be graduating from Missouri S&T this May—congratulations to her family on this exciting milestone!

In her free time, Mrs. Hunt enjoys reading and crafting, and she has already shared how much she has enjoyed meeting everyone here. She describes the staff as incredibly welcoming and mentioned that her connection with Stefanie Stringer, a colleague from a previous school, inspired her to join our team.

Please join us in giving Mrs. Hunt a warm welcome as she begins this new chapter with us!

Request for Donations: 7th Grade Basket for PTO Mouse Races

Dear 7th grade Families,

We are seeking your help to create an amazing basket/gift card tree for the upcoming Mouse Races hosted by our PTO. The tree is ready, and a few gift cards have already been collected, but we’d love more contributions to make it truly special!

If you’d like to donate, you can:

  • Drop off a gift card at the office. Please ensure it’s marked: Attention: Meeghan Evans, 7th Grade Mouse Race Basket.
  • Contact me directly by call, text, or email if you have any questions or need additional details.

Your generosity helps make this event a success, and we truly appreciate your support!

Thank you in advance for your contributions.

Grateful for Your Generosity and Support

Dear GSA Parents,

Thank you so much for your generosity and support during STUCO's Winter Warm-Up Drive! Thanks to your incredible donations, we collected over 350 winter coats, hand warmers, deodorant, gloves, and socks to help those in need at St. Patrick's Homeless Shelter in downtown St. Louis.

Your kindness and commitment to making a difference in our community have truly warmed hearts this season. Together, we’ve provided warmth and hope to many individuals, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

With gratitude,
Mr. Ballman & Mr. Hlinak
