Practice Cutting
Valentine's Day is a great time to practice cutting--cutting cards, cutting out hearts, and cutting out pictures of your favorite things from magazines.
When we teach cutting, we always teach "Thumbs up to cut" and "Keep the scissors straight ahead, turn the paper round instead" to help students remember how to cut on a curved line. Here is a fun song to help them remember.
