JAGUAR FAMILIES
A Message from Madison:
This past Saturday, we celebrated the incredible Class of 2026 and the remarkable journey that brought them to graduation. This class has definitely left a lasting legacy at Heritage High School, one that will not soon be forgotten.
We are now in the final stretch and pulling up to the finish line! With only 4 school days remaining, we will continue to uphold the high expectations that define Jaguar Nation. All campus rules remain strictly in place, and all students are expected to meet our behavioral guidelines. Let's finish strong! We want to ensure everyone keeps their final exam exemptions this week!
End-of-Year Cell Phone & Yondr Pouch Expectations
This week, we will begin collecting Yondr pouches through English classes. Please note that turning in your Yondr pouch does not mean students are permitted to use their cell phones. State law regarding student cell phone use remains strictly in effect for the remainder of the school year.
For the rest of the week, students must choose one of the following options:
Leave cell phones at home.
Keep phones stored completely inside a backpack or bag, powered completely OFF.
⚠️ Important: Phones may not be kept in student pockets or accessed at any point during the school day.
Enforcement: If a phone is visible or seen in use, it will be immediately confiscated and turned into the front office. The student will be assigned In-School Suspension (ISS) for the remainder of the day, and a parent or guardian will be required to pick up the device in accordance with state law. Please remember that an ISS assignment will result in the loss of exam exemptions.
It has been an absolutely fantastic year at Heritage High School. Thank you for your continued partnership and for making every single day a great day to be a Heritage Jaguar! I hope all of our students and families have a wonderful, relaxing, and safe summer break.
With Jaguar Pride,
Ketura Madison

STUDENT PERSONAL COMMUNICATION DEVICE PROTOCOLS
We want to remind you of the new state law that impacts all Texas public schools. This law prohibits students from possessing or using personal electronic communication devices—such as cell phones, earbuds, and smartwatches—during the school day while on campus.
We understand that this is a significant change for students and families. Please know that our goal is not simply to enforce a rule, but to support our students as they adjust to this shift. We are committed to working with families to ensure a smooth and respectful transition. Our focus remains on creating a learning environment that is focused, engaging, and free from distractions.
We appreciate your partnership and understanding as we implement this change. Together, we can help students stay connected to what matters most—learning, relationships, and personal growth.
WHAT:
- For compliance with House Bill 1481, Midlothian ISD adopted policy FCNE(LOCAL) which prohibits a student from using a personal communication device while on school property during the school day.
- Personal communication devices include a telephone, cell phone such as a smartphone or flip phone, tablet, smartwatch, radio device, paging device, or any other electronic device capable of telecommunication or digital communication.
WHY:
- Students are expected to learn with a higher degree of engagement and less distractions when cell phones and other devices are not accessible during the school day.
- We expect that a cell phone-free school will have a positive impact on school, climate, mental health, and student safety.
STUDENTS:
- Do not use any cell phone or other personal communication device during the school day on school property.
- Follow the Midlothian ISD guidelines to avoid having your cell phone or other devices confiscated. Students found to be in violation of the guidelines will have disciplinary consequences and have their phones confiscated. Embrace these new guidelines with a positive attitude knowing that the spirit of the new rule is to remove distractions and negativity that cell phones often cause in the school environment.
STUDENT IDs
Remember it is mandatory for students to wear their ID at all times for security and identification purposes. If a student forgets their badge, they will need to get a temporary ID for the day ($1). If they lose their permanent ID, they can purchase a new one for $5. We will not issue a new ID Badge without payment.
If a student is late to class because they have to get an ID, they will be counted tardy.
STUDENT DRESS CODE
Thank you for your support as we continue to enforce the MISD Dress Code and ID requirements on campus. The vast majority of our students are in compliance and we are very appreciative!
Students are expected to follow the MISD Dress Code linked below:
https://www.misd.gs/student-life/dress-code
If a student is found to be out of dress code, they will be sent to their Assistant Principal (AP). If the student can correct the issue, they will be allowed to return to class. If the issue cannot be corrected, disciplinary action will be taken.
If a student is late to class because they are out of dress code and are trying to correct the issue, they will be counted tardy.
PARKING ON CAMPUS
PARKING PERMITS
All students & staff members need a parking pass to park on MISD property. See Mr. Spradley or Mrs. Lloyd to purchase a parking pass. Student parking passes are $45.00. Students will receive a citation for not having a parking pass.
LUNCH DROP OFF POLICY
Heritage students may only receive lunch that is dropped off by a PARENT OR GUARDIAN listed on the student's Skyward account during the designated lunch time. We do not allow food deliveries from DoorDash, Uber Eats, or any other delivery service. If food arrives from a delivery service, the front office will not accept the food. Friends are also not allowed to drop off food for a student. Parents, please only deliver food for your student. We do not allow parents of other students to deliver food to their friends.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
STUDENT MORNING DROP OFF
STUDENT PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF
Student safety is our number one priority. We need your help with this when you pick-up and drop-off your student each morning. Please do not cut through the parking lot as this endangers our students walking home or to their cars.
Please take a few moments to view the map below which show the drop-off and pick-up locations/routes.
Car Riders:
Enter the student parking lot off of FM 1387.
Security Guards will open gates at 3:50pm for pick up.
Please do not cut through the parking lot.
Parents may not drop-off / pick up students at the front entrance drive. Any student dropped off at the front entrance will be required to walk to the back of the building to the student entrance. Any student attempting to exit the front of the building to be picked up at dismissal, will be redirected to the student entrance.
STUDENT DISMISSAL PICK-UP
At dismissal we will have two different routes to exit the parking lot. Once you pick up your student you will either pick the left lane that leads to the guard shack or the right lane that leads to the digital marquee.
If you are in the left lane that leads to the guard shack You must turn left or go straight.
If you are in the right lane that leads to the marquee You must turn right towards the light.
