Help Us Build Next Year’s Calendar! 🗓️
We are already looking ahead to next year, and we want to make sure the PTO is hosting events and supporting programs that you actually care about. Whether you’re a parent, guardian, or staff member, your voice matters!
We’ve put together a quick survey to hear your thoughts on events, enrichment programs, and how we can better support our school community.
Time commitment: Less than 3 minutes.
The Impact: Your feedback will directly shape our 2026-2027 calendar.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community!
✏️ Looking for a Tutor? We’re Building a Resource for You!
We’ve heard from many families looking for extra academic support, and we have a plan to help! The PTO is currently connecting with our own WDES teachers to see who is available for private tutoring.
Why this helps:
Trusted Educators: Work with teachers who already know our school's curriculum.
Easy Connections: No more guessing who to ask—we’re putting the info in one place.
Tailored Support: Whether it’s math, reading, or writing, we want to help you find the right fit.
If you are interested in getting connected with a tutor, please call the school at (804) 224-9100. We will have the list for you.
Please note: Tutoring is an independent arrangement between parents and teachers. The PTO is happy to provide the "who's who" to get you started!
🪄 Celebrate Staff Appreciation Week: May 4–8!
It’s time to show our "magical" staff some love! To celebrate Staff Appreciation Week, we’ve planned a special theme for each day. Whether your student is in Crab, Dolphin, Otter, or Osprey House, we invite everyone to participate in these daily acts of kindness:
Monday 🌸: Bring or draw a flower for a staff member.
Tuesday 🥤: Bring in your teacher’s or staff member's favorite snack or drink.
Wednesday ✍️: Write a letter or draw a picture for a staff member you see daily.
Thursday 👔: Dress like your favorite staff member!
Friday 🎁: Bring a special gift or write down a favorite memory to share.

📢 Volunteer Opportunity: Field Day 2026! 🏃♂️☀️
It’s almost time for our favorite day of the school year! We are so excited to get the students outside for a day of fun, teamwork, and sunshine on Friday, May 15th.
To ensure this event is a success, we are looking for dedicated volunteers to help run our activity stations. We are offering two shift options to help cover the day:
Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Afternoon Shift: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Spots are filling up fast so make sure that you sign up ASAP!
Volunteer Perks: We truly value your help! Volunteers who commit to a shift are welcome to spend the remainder of their time on campus accompanying their student as they rotate through activities. (e.g., Morning volunteers may join their student during the afternoon session, and afternoon volunteers are welcome to join their student during the morning session).
A Note on Responsibility: To keep this model successful and ensure we can offer similar opportunities in the future, we ask that all volunteers treat their station commitment with responsibility. Reliable attendance is essential to the success of the event, and failure to fulfill a signed-up shift may impact eligibility for future volunteer opportunities.
⚠️ Important Policy: To ensure a safe, secure, and focused environment for all students, we will not be able to accommodate spectators on the field this year. Participation is reserved exclusively for parents who have signed up to actively lead an activity station.
Thank you for your partnership in making this a safe and memorable day for our kids!

Help Us Save Our School Garden! 🌸
Calling all volunteers! As we prepare for exciting construction upgrades to our building, we need your help to protect a special part of our school. We are looking for hands to help us carefully dig up and relocate the beautiful flowers that were generously donated to our campus last year.
We want to make sure these plants thrive in their new home, and we can’t do it without our amazing school community!
When: Sunday, May 17th
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM (or until we finish!)
What to bring: Garden gloves, a trowel (if you have one), and your school spirit!
Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole day, every bit of help makes a difference. Let’s work together to keep our school blooming!
