Class meetings
The first full week of school the Administration team met with each academic class during flex. The following expectations were discussed;
Introductions of Administrative team members
Respect and expectations when talking with adults
Scanning in with your ID as you enter the building, class, and leaving during class time.
No Electronic/No Meta Glasses while in the classroom
Absences and the importance of attendance tied to academic success with deduction of credit due to unexcused absences.
Absences and Early Departures-Please call ahead
The district’s educational program is built on the premise that regular attendance is vital to a student’s success. Seeing that a student maintains regular attendance requires a cooperative effort among students, parents/guardians and school personnel. You can click here to view our absentee policy. Calling your student out for lunch is considered an unexcused absence. Unexcused absences can result in school and truancy consequences. Please help the office staff by calling ahead when you plan to pick up your child. Messages can be left anytime of day on the attendance line and students can be given a pass to be waiting in the office for your arrival. Please be understanding of a delay if you forget to call ahead.

Reminders
Be aware of students crossing the parking lot
Do not pull into students parking spaces, go to drop off zone
Students should be dropped off in identified areas only.
Student Parking Reminder
Most students who drive to SHS have been assigned a parking spot, with some students choosing to pay an additional fee for a preferred spot. Moving forward, all students must park in their assigned parking spot.
If you arrive at school and someone is parked in your assigned spot:
Do not park in another student’s assigned spot. This creates a chain reaction and causes parking issues for other students.
Take a picture of the vehicle’s license plate that is parked in your spot.
Park temporarily in one of the diagonal parking spaces located along the former one-way street.
Email the picture of the license plate to Mrs. Moeller so the issue can be addressed.
Need a Temporary Parking Spot?
Students who only need to drive to school for a day or two should email Mrs. Moeller, in advance when possible, and a temporary parking spot will be assigned for those days.
Thank you for helping us keep student parking organized and making sure everyone has access to their assigned space!

2026 Sandwich High School Homecoming
The Homecoming dance is right around the corner, September 26, and as families are starting to purchase outfits and accessories. Remember SHS has a clear bag policy, meaning any bag that is inside the building during the dance must be clear. If a student arrives with a bag that does not meet this requirement, they will not be permitted to bring their bag in the school. They can take it back to their vehicle or call a parent to pick it up.
As done previously, all students will be required to undergo a security screening using a handheld metal detector.
If a student is found to be in possession of any items that are not permitted at school including vapes, illegal substances, or alcohol they will not be allowed to enter the dance and will be required to leave school property.
A parent or guardian will be contacted to pick up the student. In addition to being denied entry, the student will not receive a refund and will receive school consequences in accordance with the SHS Student Handbook.
Homecoming Guests that do not attend Sandwich High School
If your student is bringing a guest that does not attend Sandwich High School, this guest request form will need to be completed by the guest and the school they attend.

Best High Schools Ranking
I am excited to share that U.S. News & World Report has named Sandwich High School one of the top 100 high schools in the metropolitan area in its latest Best High Schools rankings.
What does this recognition mean?
U.S. News evaluated and numerically ranked more than 18,000 public high schools nationwide. Its rankings include national and metropolitan-area results, as well as recognition of STEM and charter schools.
Sandwich High School’s U.S. News profile includes information about student enrollment, graduation rates, demographics, location, school type, state assessment performance, Advanced Placement participation and results, and International Baccalaureate participation and results, where applicable.
Most importantly, this recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of our students and staff. I am incredibly proud to be part of the Sandwich High School community, and I look forward to celebrating many more academic accomplishments together.
