Hello Fairmeadows Families,

A big thank you to all of our parents for attending parent/teacher conferences. We feel we had an opportunity to work with families, share data, and set goals for the rest of the school year. If you have feedback or questions, feel free to contact us at any time, 633-6500.

Also, our lost and found is overflowing. If you are missing a coat, shirt, shoes, or any other items, please take a minute in the next two weeks to look through the lost and found in the main entry of the school. All unclaimed items will be donated over spring break.

The Fairmeadows Kindness Club consists of approximately 60 students in grades 4-6. The group meets one to two times per month before school. The goal of the group is to spread kindness and reach out to others in a positive way in our school, community, and the world.

This year the Kindness Club has left laundry pods and a kind message at a laundromat, made personal care support bags for the homeless in the Des Moines area, handed out water bottles and shared positive messages to parents as they dropped off students one morning, along with many other activities. The leaders of the group are Mrs. Hanson, Fairmeadows school counselor and Mrs. Weekland from Community Education.

On Friday, March 1st, students went sledding on the playground to celebrate showing our PBIS behaviors. Students had the opportunity to purchase a sledding experience with their tickets earned for positive behaviors.

Fairmeadows Elementary serves approximately 550 students in grades kindergarten through sixth-grade. We are proud to be part of the West Des Moines Community School District and to serve the students and families in our community. Creating a positive learning environment for all children is our top priority. We are focused on creating a respectful, responsible, safe, and caring learning environment for all students and staff.
