Principal's Corner

Dear Cielo Vista Families,

We’re excited for the upcoming Halloween festivities next week! To help us ensure a safe and fun celebration, please remind our little Bobcats not to bring masks or props of any kind, including toy weapons, to school. Students will still have physical education, so be sure they wear tennis shoes that day. Individually wrapped treats are welcome and much appreciated.

Please note that we will have early dismissal at 12:00 p.m. on Halloween Day.

Looking ahead, we are also preparing for our Thanksgiving Luncheon. Tickets can be purchased online, with a maximum of four guests per student. If you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our front office team—they’ll be happy to help.

Most importantly, let’s continue to show kindness, patience, and respect toward one another. By working together, we can maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where our little Bobcats can continue to learn, grow, and thrive!

Warm regards,

Maria Guerra

Principal, Cielo Vista Elementary

November Challenge

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We want to remind families of the importance of having students in school every day and for the entire day. Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic success. Please try to schedule appointments and family activities during non-school hours or on days off so that students can make the most of their learning time.

To help encourage great attendance, we are launching our November Attendance Challenge!

Students who have:

  • No absences (excused or unexcused),

  • No tardies, and

  • No early checkouts (excused and unexcused)

for the entire month of November will earn a special reward!

These students will be able to invite two guests to have lunch with them on December 5, 2025, during their lunch hour. Bring your sack lunch to enjoy with your child.

Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child’s success by prioritizing daily, on-time attendance!

Sincerely,

Principal
Ms. Guerra

Hello Cielo Vista Community,

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and share how excited I am to be joining Cielo Vista as the new Assistant Principal. With 16 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a special education teacher, general education teacher, and instructional coach. Each of these roles has fueled my passion for supporting student success and creating positive, inclusive learning environments.

I am truly honored to join the Bobcat family and look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to make this an amazing year of growth and achievement. My door is always open, and I welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback.

Please feel free to reach out to me anytime at cfierro1@episd.org or 915-236-8375.

Dear Bobcat Families,

We are excited to share some updates to the way we will celebrate our outstanding students this school year!

Our Terrific Kids monthly celebrations will be transitioning to a new recognition program:

Bobcat of the Month. Each month, one student from every class will be selected for demonstrating the Core Essentials Value of the Month. These students will be recognized in several ways:

  • Featured on a classroom bulletin board
  • Showcased on a schoolwide cafeteria bulletin board
  • Highlighted during the morning announcements
  • Celebrated through our digital school channels

In addition, we are introducing a new honor: the Extraordinary Bobcat. Every nine weeks, two students from each class will be recognized as exemplary role models of our Cielo Vista Bobcat R.O.A.R. Core Values—Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible. Families of these students will be invited to attend a special celebration in their honor.

We look forward to continuing to recognize and honor our Bobcats for their leadership, responsibility, and character in meaningful ways throughout the year!
