Robotics competes for the first time!
The high school Robotics team placed 14th out of 33 teams at the Iowa Park REC VEX VR5 Robotics High Stakes competition. Additionally, they made it to the finals round. These students were: Caitlynn Perkins, Lyndsie Tan-To, Kennedy Neu and Atzin Ruiz. This all-ladies team became quick to strategize with other teams to increase success in earning points and troubleshooted technology issues in-between competitions.
The junior high team also competed at the high school competition with their VEX VR5 robot. These students finished 27th and consisted of: Chisam Weir, Molly Pyle, Kinsley Nance, Kayden Woods, and Isabel Bentley. They also went to the finals round and allied with the GHS team.

🌟 GJH Learning Comes to Life with Coach Thompson & Mr. Bentley! 🌟
Today, Coach Thompson and Mr. Bentley teamed up to create an unforgettable experience for our students: an interactive Oregon Trail activity!
Students worked together to answer thought-provoking questions, each answer unlocking the correct cardinal direction they needed to navigate their journey. The goal? Successfully complete their trek on the Oregon Trail—“surviving” challenges, making decisions, and learning essential skills along the way.
This hands-on collaboration not only brought history to life but also taught problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking. Thank you, Coach Thompson and Mr. Bentley, for inspiring our Leopards and showing us that learning can be both fun and impactful!
