Principal's Corner
Dear Indian Prairie Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you in excellent health and high spirits. This past week has been exceptionally eventful, marked by numerous activities and initiatives that have greatly enriched our school community. From the Black History Program to the Read-a-Thon, each event showcased our collective dedication and enthusiasm.
Our Community Readers and the Kids Heart Challenge were just a few highlights, alongside engaging activities such as the Keena Ford Trivia and the Morning Announcements Readers. Spirit Week brought a vibrant energy to our school, culminating in a Perfect Attendance Assembly that celebrated our students' commitment to their education.
Each of these events was a resounding success, with students and community partners actively participating with remarkable enthusiasm. Thank you for your tireless efforts in preparing our students and ensuring they presented their best selves throughout the week.
Your contributions have made this week not only memorable but also successful. Let us continue to foster this spirit of collaboration and excellence as we move forward.
Warm regards,
Ms. Nelson

Kindergarten Orientation
Thank you to all the families that were able to join us for our Kindergarten/PEEP orientation. If you were not able to attend, or know someone who was not able to attend, it's not too late to register. Students who will be five years old by Sept. 1 may enroll in kindergarten. Waivers are available for students who will be five between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1. All schools offer full-day kindergarten. Students are initially assigned to schools based on their home addresses. You may start the enrollment process online . More information can be found on the kindergarten webpage.
As a Great Start Readiness Program, the KPS Pre-Kindergarten Early Education Program (PEEP) can serve eligible children who are four years old by Dec. 1. There are many ways to qualify for PEEP and it all starts with the application! Most children are eligible but, if not, we will strive to help you find another well-regarded program available at no or reduced cost. You can call the office at (269) 337-0095 or send an email. More information can be found on the PEEP webpage.
