THE WEEKLY UPDATE
October 26 - 31
Hello CSD Community!
Quarter 1 is in the books! We held Parent Teacher Conferences last week and had a great turnout! If you did not attend (1) you missed out! and (2) we will be sending grade reports out this week. We also had our annual Zim's Reward Trip for our Honor Roll students! It was a great week to celebrate all the successes from Quarter 1!
On the sports front, it is the beginning of the end of fall sports and the Lumberjacks are doing us proud! All three sports, volleyball, cross country, and football, have completed League and District play and are moving on to State Tournament play! The cross country team competed at the 2A District Championship where the team was within 3 points of qualifying as a team for state! While it was a heartbreak for the team at the end of the season, Greer G. finished 7th in Districts and qualified for State next week at Pocatello! Congratulations Greer!
The volleyball girls finished their regular season in second place in District III! They next took on Coeur du Christ on Saturday to play in to the State Tournament. The Ladyjacks took care of business beating Coeur du Christ in 3 sets and earning their spot at the State Tournament! Way to go girls!
Football played their last game of the regular season traveling to Salmon River to take on the Savages. The Lumberjacks came away with the victory thus sealing themselves as the Long PIN Champion for the 5th season in a row! Way to go Lumberjacks! They next take on Mackay at HOME! Day and time are still TBD, but we hope to see Lumberjack Nation at the game!
LUMBERJACKS MAKING NEWS!
This past week, our own Mr. Corbett was celebrated at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana with an American FFA Degree. According to the ffa.org website an American Degree is the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization. An American Degree shows an FFA member's dedication to his chapter and state FFA association. It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career.
Congratulations Mr. Corbett! We are so proud of you!
Idaho Youth Well-Being Survey
Unfortunately, we did not receive enough permission forms to be able to offer the Student Wellbeing Survey last week. We need at least 66% students opted-in to be able to give the survey. As of the end of last week, we had a little over 50%. This is unfortunate because this survey provides important data for the school to be able to better serve our students. If you haven't already, please follow this link to opt your student in or out to participate: --> https://boisestate.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2b39NFSuxTTJYy2
What parents should know:
Parental permission/consent is required for students to participate. Even with permission, students do not have to take the survey.
Responses are 100% anonymous. No one can track individual student answers.
Survey results stay with our school and district.
The IYWS is run by Communities for Youth in partnership with YAC.
The survey questions can be previewed here.
If you would like to learn more about the survey, visit the YAC website. Provide permission for your child here https://boisestate.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2b39NFSuxTTJYy2
