We are so proud of our students for the effort they showed during ELA ISAT testing this week. State testing can be mentally exhausting for both students and staff, and we appreciate the focus and perseverance our students demonstrated. We are looking forward to celebrating their hard work, with incentives tied to attendance, effort, and achievement. Be on the lookout for more information as we continue building success—Stronger Together, link by link.

As the weather begins to (hopefully) warm up, this is a good time for a quick reminder about dress code expectations. We have included the district policy along with a visual guide to help ensure students are coming to school dressed appropriately and ready to learn.

With just five weeks remaining in the school year, it is important that we stay focused and finish strong. Recently, we have seen an increase in student behavior concerns, particularly around disrespect and not following school expectations. We have had to remove several student “perks” or privileges over the past week due to these behaviors. While we understand that this is middle school and the end of the school year can bring extra energy, we cannot tolerate disrespect, misuse of school property, or unkindness toward others. Our goal is always to provide positive opportunities for students, but those opportunities depend on students demonstrating responsibility and respect. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home so we can continue creating a safe and positive environment for all students.

We are excited to finish out the month of April with Math ISAT testing on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is another opportunity for our students to show what they have learned and continue building on their success. You can support your child by ensuring they attend school, arrive on time, and bring their Chromebook fully charged each day. Thank you for your continued partnership as we encourage our students to do their best and finish strong.

Reality Town

We are excited to share that our 8th grade students will be participating in Reality Town this year—a hands-on simulation designed to help students experience the financial responsibilities of adulthood. During this event, students will take on the role of a 30-year-old adult with a career, salary, and family situation, and will work through budgeting for real-life expenses such as housing, transportation, groceries, and more.

To make this experience possible, we are seeking volunteers to help run business booths throughout the event. Reality Town will take place on May 7, 2026, at West Minico Middle School. Volunteers will receive training the morning of the event, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please scan the QR code included or contact Khali Vandever at kvandever@minidokaschools.org.

We appreciate your support in helping provide meaningful, real-world learning opportunities for our students!

ISAT Testing Information

We are beginning ISAT testing and are excited for our students to show the growth they’ve made this year. This is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and progress.

Attendance and punctuality are especially important on testing days. Arriving on time helps students avoid make-up sessions and ensures they can test in a calm, focused environment. Please also make sure your student brings their laptop fully charged each day of testing.

Testing Dates:

  • Math (All Grades): April 28–29

To help your student do their best, we encourage:

  • A good night’s sleep before each testing day
  • A healthy breakfast
  • Arriving at school on time and ready to go
  • Encouragement and a positive mindset

We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this year and look forward to celebrating their success!

Attendance matters more than many people realize. Being at school consistently is one of the strongest predictors of student success—academically and socially. Every day your child is present, they are building skills, making connections, and staying on track with their learning. Even missing just a few days can make it harder to keep up. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your student shows up, stays engaged, and continues to grow.

Supplemental Levy - May 19, 2026

We are Minidoka

Our district’s mission is simple: provide every student with the resources, safety, and opportunities they need to succeed. To accomplish this, our schools rely on a combination of state funding and local support. The supplemental levy is an important part of maintaining strong academic programs, safe schools, and reliable services for students.
