💤 This Friday: Read-a-Thon & Pajama Day!

Here’s what families need to know for Friday’s big event:

  • Bring a book your student loves to read — any book works!
  • No backpacks on Friday — students should bring only a small bag with their book and lunch.
  • Students may wear their coziest pajamas and bring one cozy item, like a blanket or stuffed animal.
  • Get ready for a fun, comfy day of reading and relaxing with friends and classmates!

Information Updates Information Updates

It’s time to complete the Information Update Form for your student. This important process ensures that we have the most accurate and up-to-date information on file for your child.

Why is this important?

  • We changed student information systems (SIS) over the summer, and the new system tracks information about guardians in more detail than our previous SIS. This is your opportunity to review the information about you and your student that made the transition between the two systems.
  • Emergency Contact & Safety: Having the correct phone numbers, addresses, and emergency contacts helps us reach you quickly if needed.
  • Opt-in and out of information sharing with Colleges and Military recruiters, or family meal status to enable reduced fees for athletics and ASB activities.
  • Health Information: Updated medical conditions, allergies, and medications help us keep your child safe during the school day.
  • Communication: Accurate information ensures you receive school announcements, teacher messages, report cards, and district updates.
  • Legal & Custody information: Verifying guardian rights and permissions helps us protect your student’s well-being. A default value was entered for guardians as part of the conversion but is not always correct.

What you need to do:

  • Log in to the ParentVUE portal.
  • On a computer, click “Online Registration” in the top-right corner. In the app, tap the “Online Registration” icon twice to open it in a new window.
  • Select Information Update and review student record(s).
  • Make any necessary changes and submit.

Please complete the Information Update as soon as possible so we can best support your child this school year.

If you have problems logging in to ParentVUE, please open a Help Desk ticket for support.

Thank you for your time and partnership in keeping our student records accurate.

ParentView and Attendance ParentView and Attendance

Thank you for your patience as we learn our new system this year! A couple things we are noticing:

• You cannot go backwards in ParentView, so please email gwyattendance@everettsd.org if the absence was for a previous day.

• Please wait as long as you can to submit an absence for your student if they might actually come to school. Parents cannot edit absences once they are submitted, and it is confusing when the student shows up after being reported absent.

• You do not need to call in absences, we actually need them in writing, so please either use ParentView or email gwyattendance@everettsd.org.

Thank you!

Cell Phone Policy Cell Phone Policy

Everett Public Schools Board of Directors adopted a policy on use of Personal Electronic Devices in 2019.

Elementary and Middle School Students

Elementary and middle school students who choose to bring cell phones and other PEDs to school may only use them before or after the school day. During the school day, all cell phones and other PEDs must be powered off and stored (e.g., in the student’s backpack, locker, other district provided storage). Please click here to access the policy.

Parents, if you need to reach your student, please contact the office. We regularly have parents sending text messages to students during the school day. This is a distraction to learning for your student and sometimes those around them, and sometimes disrupts teaching as well. If your student is not feeling well, they should report to the health office and we will notify you. If a family emergency arises, please call the office and we will assist in retrieving your student.

We do not allow use of PEDs at anytime. ChromeBooks should only be used for academic purposes. To reduce the duration students are on screens and to encourage socialization, school ChromeBooks are not allowed to be used during lunchtime, unless a student is in the library or working with a staff member on schoolwork.

Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB)

As a parent, we always want to protect our students. If you have a concern, please take a look at the district policy on HIB. If you need to report a concern, please click here.
