Families of Anoka-Hennepin Schools,

It has been an honor to serve the Anoka-Hennepin School District and its communities for the past three school years as your Superintendent. My journey serving in education has been grounded in leading with purpose - focused on the goal of making a meaningful impact on student outcomes. After spending six years of the last decade of my career at Anoka-Hennepin, I am proud of our district for focusing on what is best for our students.

In reflection of all that we have achieved together, I will not be seeking another contract after my current term expires. My last day of employment with the district will be June 30, 2026. The timing of this notice is intended to allow the School Board to conduct an efficient leadership search process while providing myself the opportunity to explore other professional goals.

Anoka-Hennepin is a district that many often look to as a leader in education, and I have confidence that the district is in a stable place to continue our mission to effectively educate each of our students for success. I am committed to supporting this transition to ensure our momentum remains uninterrupted through the end of the school year.

I want to thank the Anoka-Hennepin staff members, our families and our community members for their partnership in focusing on achieving success in alignment with the district’s strategic priorities:

  • Focus on literacy: District staff have successfully worked to improve literacy at all grade levels, ensuring students have the essential skills needed for lifelong achievement.

  • Creating safe and welcoming environments: By emphasizing student engagement and behavior, the district has worked to provide safe and welcome learning environments where every student feels they belong.

  • Strengthening our schools through effective organizational support: The district has prioritized effective organizational support by improving employee recruitment and retention, ensuring students are supported by a talented and dedicated workforce. In addition, I’m proud of the efforts made to engage with key stakeholders in recent years to balance the budget, ensuring financial stability for the district.

Anoka-Hennepin has a bright future, with communities who care deeply about their schools, strong partnerships with our families, and staff members who make a difference for our students – which provides me with assurance that the school district is in a stable place to transition a new leader to move the district forward.

Anoka-Hennepin Schools is a special place, and serving here has been a highlight in my career. I greatly appreciate your partnership, your trust, and your dedication to our students throughout this journey.

With much thanks and appreciation,

Cory McIntyre, superintendent
