Message from Mr. Imbusch Message from Mr. Imbusch

Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:

Yesterday evening, we hosted the first of two parent/teacher conferences. We have another conference time this Monday, November 24th from 3:30 - 6:00PM. Conferences are being held by appointment only using these links. Report Cards were published to your X2 Aspen page on November 12th. Please remember that teachers are available for extra help every Wednesday from 1:34PM. There are also teachers available in the Media Center every time your student has a study hall. Please utilize these extra help opportunities!

This coming Wednesday will be an Early Release Day. We are once again running an alternative activity day that we call ‘Timberwolf Wednesday’ for both students and staff. Our staff have offered many different activities for students, and there will be a Pep Rally held in the gym for all those students who want to attend. Students should sign up as soon as possible after 2:30pm today if they haven't done so already using the link above, as activities will fill up fast. Students must be registered for at least the first two sessions if you are planning on attending the pep rally during the last session.

For anyone dealing with a child who is exhibiting School Avoidance, this article in Psychology Today provides some sage advice. “Though not an official mental health diagnosis, the research on school avoidance indicates its roots are usually in emotional issues, largely anxiety-based”.

This weekend, our very talented Cheerleaders have qualified for the State Championships which takes place at Worcester State University. I want to wish them the very best of luck!

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are able to find time for some rest and relaxation, and you get to enjoy some quality time with friends and family.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Stephen Imbusch

Principal

Seal of Biliteracy Seal of Biliteracy

News from the World Language Department November 2025

The World Language Department is offering students the opportunity to earn the Massachusetts Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school or district in recognition of students who have attained proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in two or more languages by high school graduation.

The Seal is awarded at two proficiency levels and can be used to communicate with academic institutions, employers, and the community that students are able to study, work, and engage with others in two or more languages. Students who meet the criteria for the Seal of Biliteracy will receive an insignia provided by the Department of Education to be affixed to their high school transcript. An application is now available for seniors (class of 2026) with testing dates in December; the application is included in these enotes. Dates for juniors will be upcoming in the spring. Interested students can talk to their World Language teacher or see Ms. Kay (room 1322 inside room 1321 in the World Language Wing).

The Photography Club will not be meeting for 2 weeks so enjoy your Thanksgiving Break. Over the break the theme is Food! So take pictures of the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and all those delicious pies and desserts. Pretend you are Food Network's next photographer and take a great picture of all the food you will hopefully be feasting on in the next two weeks and make it look like a professional food picture.

The Photography Club will also be running its annual Photography Contest. The contest will run from November 25 - December 16th. The theme is "Bug's Eye View" Think of yourself as a bug really small and on the ground. How does a bug see up above? Bug's Eye View is getting your camera low to the ground and creating an image by making the subject appear much larger.

Message from the Athletic Director

The winter registration on Family ID opened on Monday, October 6th. It will close again on Wednesday, November 26th, at 11:00 am, and it will not reopen until Monday night after the first day of practices.

A reminder that physicals must be dated within the last 13 months. Please turn in an updated copy to the Athletic Office or the Main office.

Baseline ImPACT Testing needs to be administered at WHS before the winter tryouts. Please reach out to your coach if you have any questions regarding ImPact testing.

Physical forms, proof of completion of the concussion course, baseline ImPACT testing, and registration must be completed before a student can attend practices. Please turn this into the main or Athletic Offices.

Athletic fees are due for all sports before receiving a uniform. You can pay online or by check. Please wait until after tryouts before paying if you are trying out for a cut sport. MySchoolBucks is open for any student participating in a non-cut sport in the winter. Please see below for the fee schedule

Winter Athletic Fees- $375 for Boys/Girls Hockey and Gymnastics and $275 for the other sports.

The Athletic website is located on the High School homepage. On this page, you will find forms, registration instructions, online payments, Twitter information, coaches' contact information, and an athletic calendar with the daily game schedules.
