A Message from Mrs. Cleppe
BHS Students and Families:
As we begin a new week at BHS, I want to take a moment to thank our students for their diligence, focus, and flexibility during last week’s state testing. The adjustments to schedules and routines are never easy, and our students handled it with maturity and effort—we are proud of the way they showed up and gave their best.
We will continue to pull students this week who were absent or need additional time to complete their assessments. If your student is called in, please encourage them to approach it with the same focus and effort we saw last week.
As we move into the second week of 4th quarter, this is an important time for students to stay intentional with their choices, especially during PRIDE time. Students are expected to sign up appropriately and use this time wisely to support their learning, whether that means seeking extra help, completing work, or engaging in enrichment opportunities. Taking ownership of this time is a key part of staying on track and finishing the year strong.
It’s also exciting to see our spring activities underway! From athletics to the upcoming spring musical, our students are showcasing their talents in so many ways. We are proud of their commitment and can’t wait to see all they accomplish—now let’s hope the weather starts cooperating for everyone involved.
A final note for 11th grade families: We are beginning to plan ahead for the Class of 2027 Bett After Prom, and we are looking for a small committee of junior parents/guardians to help lead this important event next year. This group will have the opportunity to connect with this year’s senior parent leaders to learn more about the process and what is involved. If you are interested in supporting this great tradition, please reach out to Mr. Shay or Mrs. Cleppe.
Let’s keep the momentum going, BHS. Have a great week!
Kristy Cleppe
Principal, Bettendorf High School

Anastasia is a musical based on the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia, set against the backdrop of the Russian Revolution. The story follows Anya, a young woman with no memory of her past, who sets out on a journey to discover who she is. Along the way, she teams up with two con men, Dmitry and Vlad, who hope to pass her off as the lost princess to claim a reward.
As they travel from Russia to Paris, Anya begins to uncover clues about her true identity while forming genuine connections with her companions. Meanwhile, a determined Soviet officer pursues her, threatening to unravel their plan. Ultimately, Anya must choose between embracing a royal past or forging her own future, as themes of identity, belonging, and courage take center stage.
