Cinco de Mayo: 5/5/25 Cinco de Mayo: 5/5/25

🎉 What It Is & Why We Celebrate

Cinco de Mayo, celebrated every year on May 5th, commemorates the Battle of Puebla in 1862, when the Mexican army achieved an unexpected victory over French forces. While it’s not Mexico’s Independence Day (that’s September 16th!), Cinco de Mayo has become a powerful symbol of Mexican strength, resilience, and national pride.

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is widely recognized as a day to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage—with festivals, music, traditional foods, and community events bringing people together.

Let’s take this opportunity to honor the rich culture, contributions, and history of the Mexican community. ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
