Dear Weaver Lake Elementary School Families,
As we approach November, the month of giving, we’d like to thank all of you who generously gave your time and/or money to help Weaver Lake Elementary PTO kick off the 2023-2024 school year with a bang! We started the school year with a fundraising budget of $78,800.00. The Weaver Lake Elementary PTO has budgeted over $79,000 to cover many things for our scholars, including all student field trips, grade-level STEM, webinars, classroom equipment, engineering night, and art detail.
We had a great turnout at our first Dine 2 Donate fundraiser at Chipotle, bringing in over $560!
We had a tremendous show of support for our Color Run in September. Countless hours from many volunteers and our great scholars' fundraising efforts helped bring in $52,682.35!
The Scholastic book fair was very successful due to the fantastic volunteers! Thanks to all who shopped at the book fair! A quick recap of the Book Fair:
- We had a total sales of $14,413.90!
- Total All for Books money collected and donated to Media Center: $452.72.
- Total dollars of books donated by families: $1,317.87.
- Total dollars of books donated to teachers by PTO: $744.13.
- Total Scholastic Dollars used for volunteer incentive: $136.10.
- Total cash profits: $3300.
- Total Scholastic Dollar profit: $606.95.
- Total volunteer hours: (at least) 250!
As always, we invite you to join us at one of our meetings, either virtually or in person. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact one of our friendly PTO members or email us. We hope you have a great day and to see you at one of our events or meetings soon!
Thank you for helping us support the fantastic Weaver Lake Elementary scholars!

Weaver Wear Recycle Project Update & Weaver Wear Winter Sale
The second year of the Weaver Wear Recycle Project is already on track to exceed last year’s donation totals! In our first collection drive of the year, we received 13 items that fit students ranging from K-5th grade. The donated clothing items were distributed to Weaver Lake Elementary Connect classroom students to enable them to participate in Weaver Wear Days! In addition, two like-new adult items were donated and will be used as part of a staff giveaway in the spring. We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to our generous families who donated items to students at our school. If you are doing a bit of fall cleaning and find Weaver Wear that you are ready to pass along to a new home, please bring the items to one of the donation events throughout the year. We appreciate everyone who donated gently used Weaver Wear this year and hope we continue to have this community involvement for years to come!
Weaver Wear Winter Sale (Nov. 20-Dec. 1)
We will have an online Weaver Wear Winter Sale from November 20 to December 1. The orders will be delivered to school or your home the week before Winter Break in December. One of the best aspects of having a great new vendor this year is that many new cold-weather items are available in the upcoming online store. New this year, we can donate a shirt that will go to a WLE student. Another new option is choosing school or home delivery for your family's order. Please get in touch with me if you have any suggestions for items you’d like to see in our online store.

PTO Meetings
Mission Statement and Purpose
We are a group of parents/guardians and teachers with a primary objective to support our school and its students.
Every parent or guardian of students and every Weaver Lake Elementary staff member is an automatic member of the PTO! We would like to encourage you to join one of our next general meetings.
Everyone! We recognize it may feel awkward for some people to walk into a meeting where they do not know anyone. Many of us felt the same way when we went to our first meeting. We are a welcoming group that enjoys meeting new people. We love our school, teachers, staff, and students. Please consider joining us at one of our meetings.
What are the benefits of coming to a PTO meeting?
Meet other parents and staff members! Help build a school community and have a positive impact.
Voting Rights! Take part during votes to: approve the budget, choose events to host, select fundraisers, elect board members, etc. (remember, you are a member already - your vote matters!)
Be a role model! Show your child that you value education. Research demonstrates: “When parents are involved in their children’s education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school, and the schools they go to are better.”
I missed a meeting, can I see what was discussed?
Absolutely! Our meeting minutes and financials can be found on the PTO website: https://www.weaverlakepto.org/pto-documents
When is the next meeting?
The next meeting is November 14, 2023, at 6:00 pm
