8U: 1st / 2nd Grade – The 8U will play in full lacrosse gear (Helmet, chest pad, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard, athletic cup). Practices will be held on Tuesdays at the CHS Upper Turf fields. The goal of the 8U league is to introduce the basic concepts of throwing, catching, cradling, dodging, and shooting. The first 30-45 minutes will be dedicated to proper instruction of basic lacrosse skills. The final 30 minutes will be dedicated to a controlled game simulated scrimmage. Games will be small-sided. The season will run from Mid-March (weather dependent) through the end of May.
10U – The 10U group will play in the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association. Teams will be filled through the CDC spring registration process beginning in January. The 10U group will have two practices a week, Tuesdays & Thursdays, at CHS Upper Turf fields and will play games (6 v 6) versus both the surrounding communities and intra-club. The group will all practice together. Depending on participation numbers, teams will be formed based on ability following evaluations at the start of the season. The season will run from Mid-March (weather dependent) through the end of May.
12U – We plan on having A and B teams at the 12U level. Tryouts for the top A Team will be held February 21, 2026 at 1-3 PM at CDC Aletto Family Sports Center.
All 12U teams will play in the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association (IYLA) at the appropriate level. The players will have the optional opportunity to train in January and February. Spring practices for all groups will be 2 days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, primarily at the CHS Upper Turf fields behind the football field.
Games will be held the end of March through the end of May. Both teams will play in the Carmel Invitational and State Cup Tournaments, and the A Team will play in one out of town overnight tournament in South Bend, Indiana.

FUNDAMENTALS:
Moving without the ball on offense will make it harder for your defender to keep with you and usually gets you open: Lets make sure we are moving to get open and spread the field so we can get better shots on goal.
DEFENSE:
we need to make sure we get back on defense as fast as possible and defend the BOX for your goalie! keep offense from crashing in the box — use your stick and don’t lunge for 1 check - keep on their hands and hips. Our goalie can handle outside shots but can’t keep getting shot on at close range.
