Happy Sunday Wise Owl Families!
What a week! As we head into Fall Break, I want you all to know that I am thankful for you. I am thankful that you send the most amazing students to Whitesville Elementary School everyday! I am thankful to get to work with some aWESome professionals interested in creating the best school for your students to learn, the best school to work, and the best place to build life-long memories!
As you go into Fall Break, whether it is staying in town, going out of town, or a little bit of both... Please be safe!

Please Complete Impact Aid Survey
This is just a friendly reminder that the Federal Cards can be accessed and completed online, and your student has also brought them home to be filled out and signed on the back. It would be wonderful if we can have this completed this Monday, November 20, 2023.
The 2023-2024 Federal Impact Aid Parent-Pupil Survey is now available. Each year Berkeley County School District is required under federal law to conduct a pupil survey to identify families living or working on Federal property. The school system receives funding from the federal government in lieu of property taxes based on the number of families living or working on these Federal properties. Since Federal properties are exempt from local taxation, the assistance received helps to replace local taxes required for operating schools and constructing school buildings. Completing this form will assist our district in receiving funding that can be used to maintain/enhance the quality of your child’s education.
To access the survey online, log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account and click the link named “Forms” on the left menu. Once the “Forms” page loads, you should see a form named ‘Federal Cards 2023-24 November 2’. To complete the survey simply click on the form, answer the questions, and submit once completed.
If you do not have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, you may contact your school about getting an account created. Otherwise, your child will bring home a paper copy of the survey to fill out.
It is important that we have a completed form for every pupil in our schools whether or not the parent or guardian is living or working on Federal property. The information, which you provide will be kept strictly confidential. It is only available to school and federal officials to be used solely to complete the district’s request for Impact Aid funds under Title VII of the Every Student Succeeds Act.
Please contact WES if you need the survey in a different language or if you have any problems or questions.
The deadline to complete this survey is Friday, December 1st.

Help us keep our Wise Owls safe
We have notice a few students have been dropped off in the morning prior to faculty and staff being on duty. Please refrain from dropping students off prior to the 6:50 a.m. arrival time so all students are supervised.
If you need childcare prior to 6:50 a.m. we still have availability in our Morning Care. Contact the front office for more information on Morning Care through Owl's Nest.
Art to Remember Fundraiser
WES strongly supported the visual arts with the Art to Remember fundraiser! Orders that were shipped to school will be coming home with your kiddo the week of November 27. If you opted to ship your order directly to your house, be on the look out for it in the next week or so. Thank you again for your support of all the aWESome artists at Whitesville Elementary. I hope you and your family enjoy the art that your child created. Happy Holidays! ~Mrs. Estep
