Eastside Elementary
March 2026
February Highlights & A Big March Ahead
Good Afternoon Eastside Families,
February was an incredible month of learning, accomplishments, and community partnerships at Eastside. Most exciting of all — Eastside won the 2026 Park 6 Snowball Reading Competition! 🦅📚
This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, the support from families, and the daily commitment of our teachers to building strong readers. We are incredibly proud of our Eagles!
Through our Classroom to Careers focus:
-
Kindergarten students explored healthcare with Dr. Taylor and Dr. Sidor
-
1st graders built terrariums with Pollen Landscapes, and participated in a life-sized Candy Land classroom transformation.
-
2nd graders tackled hands-on engineering challenges with Ardurra Engineering.
3rd Grade learned about Cyber Security with Officer Dollard.
-
4th grade lit up learning with a glowing classroom experience and delivered an outstanding musical concert, “This Land is Our Land,” under the direction of Tammy Pearson-Horner.
-
5th graders designed robotic hands, toured Cody Regional Health’s Robotic Surgery Division, and even practiced real veterinary skills — including animal CPR and anatomy — with Lifetime Animal Hospital.
From robotics to music to engineering to veterinary medicine, our students aren’t just learning standards — they are connecting learning to real-world opportunities.
We also saw tremendous leadership from our Student Council during Board Appreciation Night, where they proudly honored our trustees with student-created gifts.
Looking Ahead to March
As we move into March, our focus remains strong instruction, high engagement, and continued growth for every student. Please consider participating in the following events:
- PTK Morning Muffins – March 13 (7:30–8:00 AM)
Join us for a special morning with your child and our Eastside community.
- March Foodness – March 9–20
Our Student Council is leading a bracket-style food drive to support the Cody Cupboard. This is a great opportunity for our students to combine school spirit with service.
- Night at the Museum - March 10th, 4:30pm, Buffalo Bill Center of the West!
An evening of hands-on literacy learning and family fun!
Thank you for your partnership and for being such an important part of Eastside Elementary. Our school is a top performing school in Wyoming, and in the nation. For the last 9 consecutive years, Eastside has MET OR EXCEEDED State Performance Expectations each year. This is because our diligent scholars, dedicated staff, and devoted families work together. We SOAR together!
GO EAGLES!
