Health and Wellness family engagement
February is Heart Healthy Month!
Join us for a family engagement about health and wellness. The Greensboro Elementary School based Wellness Center will be joining us at the Judy Center Early Learning Hub to teach us about healthy habits, nutrition, exercise, and more.

Exploring the Four Seasons through Rhyming and Rapping

Family Learning Camp: Ready, Set, Go... Potty!
There are two Family Learning Camps remaining this year!
Family learning camps are presented by Amanda Ensor with It Takes A Village, LLC. These camps will be offered virtual/online or in person at the GES JCELH.

Caroline Cares Community Resource Day
This event provides resources and services for Caroline County families. Some services that will be there are: haircuts, food boxes, picture IDs, employment, legal services, Judy Centers, and so much more! There is free transportation and free lunch too.

Día de recursos comunitarios de Caroline Cares

Trip to Sultana Education Center
Playgroup families joined the Judy Center on a trip to the Sultana Education Center. This trip was full of fun and learning about owls.
Children and families danced together, explored live animals, created a craft to take home, and more.
In this photo, our playgroup friend was learning about what owls eat and don't eat. He used his fine motor skills to feed the owl, used his math and cognitive skills to categorize what owls do eat and don't eat.
Viaje al Centro Educativo Sultana
Children were able to look at and touch live animals. Children had the chance to touch animal furs and skeletons. Children explored arrowheads and rocks.
Sultana Education Foundation offers free Toddler Time every Friday starting in November and ending in March.

Mixing colors
During playgroup, children had the opportunity to mix paint just like the mice did in our circle time book: Mouse Paint.
This activity gave children the freedom to use their creativity and explore the art materials. It gave them a chance to use and build their fine motor skills by holding and using the paintbrush. Families were with them engaging in open ended conversations, building on their communication and language skills. This activity also prepared children for school by following simple directions and engaging in an activity.
