On behalf of our school community we would like to wish William D. Slider Middle School a Happy 30th Anniversary. We hope you are having a safe and restful summer. With school days quickly approaching, we wanted to make sure that you have the information you need for the upcoming school year. Please take a moment to review the sections below for the district back to school plans, district calendar, school bell schedule, dress code, school supplies, registration, school nurse information, open house & athletics.

Registration: Get ready for the 2021-2022 School Year
Returning 7th and 8th Grade students:
On Tuesday, July 20, 2021 the campus will be open from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm for anyone who:
- May still need help submitting registration documents (utility bill, copy of picture ID, vaccination records, etc.)
- ID's for students will be distributed at a later date.
- Returning 7th and 8th grade students are NOT required to attend in person registration unless they need to conduct any of the above mentioned business.
ALL 6th grade students and NEW 7th and 8th Grade Students:
On Wednesday, July 21st & Thursday, July 22nd from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM ALL 6th and NEW 7th/8th grade students are required to attend in person registration in order to:
- Pick up school issued laptop.
- Submit any documents that may still be pending to complete online registration (utility bill, picture ID, vaccination record, etc.).
- ID's for students will be distributed at a later date.
A Message from our school nurse
Greeting Parents and Students,
I am very excited to welcome everyone back to school year 2021 -2022. As students return to school it is very important that parents ensure that their child’s immunizations are up to date. School required immunizations reduce the risk of diseases that can be prevented by vaccines. If your child is not up to date with their immunizations, now is the time to take them to their primary physician or clinic such as Immunize El Paso who has started the Vax2School Initiative for the new school year. Please visit immunizeelpaso.org for further information on their locations and hours. For more information on the minimum immunization requirements in Texas schools, please visit the Texas Department of State Health Services at https://www.dshs.texas.gov/immunize/school/default.shtm

Open House
Join us for an Open House on Thursday, July 29th beginning at 5:30 PM.
Open House will begin with a general welcome in the school gymnasium and then an opportunity to get familiar with the building. Campus administration & counselors will be onsite to meet families and answer questions. This is not a meet the teacher event. Teachers will not be on campus.
Slider Athletics
Fall Sports: Football, Cross Country & Volleyball
Practice & first day of tryouts begin on Monday, August 2nd.
Student athletes must have a physical on file and complete rank one documentation to participate.
