Superintendent Update
March 6, 2026
Cliff's Notes
Dear Bedford Public Schools Community,
I wanted to share two recent highlights that left me feeling hopeful about our community. Earlier this week, Dr. Williamson and I convened the first meeting of the Student Healthy School Hours and Snow Day Working Group with thirteen impressive BHS first-year and sophomore students. They were thoughtful, respectful, and deeply committed to helping improve our schools. It was truly the best meeting of my week. One norm the group established stood out to me: “Understand that we may have to make compromises because you won’t always get what you want.” Wise words (evoking a Rolling Stones classic!)—and a reminder that working through complex issues together requires flexibility, patience, and a willingness to find common ground. Last week, I also had the pleasure of attending the Lane School Black History Month assembly, which featured students, staff, and local artists. It was a powerful celebration of learning, culture, and community. I especially enjoyed hearing Lane students perform Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds. In some ways, the song captured the other side of the students’ working group norm: even when we don’t always get exactly what we want, we can still move forward together knowing that, in the end, “every little thing is gonna be alright.” Please enjoy a short clip of the performance.
Best,
Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅
