Week 13 Updates=DRAFT

While partial benefits are better than none at all, we understand that some families will still need extra support purchasing groceries and accessing healthy meals. Families who need this support can visit the We Got You Illinois website for a comprehensive list of food pantries, meal programs, and food distribution partners, including hours and locations, throughout Chicago and Cook County. Families can also call the CPS Healthy Kids Hotline at (773) 553-KIDS (5437) for assistance in finding food options in Chicago.

Jungman Food Drive – Giving Back to Our Community!
Food Drive: NOW - December 18th
This season, we’re collecting essential items to support our Jungman families who need weekly support to help feed their families and to assist local food pantries in need. Please consider donating:
🛒 Items Needed:
Canned foods • Rice • Pasta • Boxed meals • Cereal • Dried fruit • Powdered milk • Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.) • Clean reusable shopping bags
Our Jungman families will have the opportunity to “shop” first each week for the items they need, and all extra donations will be delivered to local food pantries serving our community.
So yes — send what you can each week from now until Winter Break! Every item makes a difference.
We also need parent volunteers to help sort, organize, and curate boxes for our families, and transport donations to the pantries.
If you can help, please sign up through our SignUpGenius link.
📋 Volunteers must be Level 2 approved.
💛 Thank you for helping ensure every family has food and care items this season!
Thank you to those parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends for being part of our STEM Day Celebration! Your energy, curiosity, and support helped make the day an incredible success. From our classroom showcases to the interactive activities, student projects, and family engagement, every moment reflected the creativity and teamwork that define our Jungman Eagles.
We are so proud of how our students shared their learning, demonstrated problem-solving, and embraced the spirit of innovation. A special thank-you to our teachers, staff, parent volunteers, and partners who worked behind the scenes to make the event run seamlessly—you truly brought STEM to life!
Together, we continue to build a community where curiosity blasts off and innovation soars. 🚀

Volunteer Process
To volunteer at Jungman, you need clearance, EVERY SCHOOL YEAR, from Chicago Public Schools! This requires a few steps!
- Login/Create an account online
- Bring your photo ID to the office or email it to Ms. Jessica at jmoreno83@cps.edu
- WATCH for an email from CPS that has a video you need to watch. When you complete the video, you download and send a copy of the certificate to volunteer@cps.edu
If you don't follow these steps, you will not be approved! This is not a Jungman policy, this is a District Policy!
