Sigma Systems exports Made in Andhra aerospace parts to UK

Andhra Pradesh has taken another significant step towards strengthening its position as a global aerospace and advanced manufacturing destination with Sigma Advanced Systems commencing production at its dedicated aerospace manufacturing facility in Sri City. The UK-based aerospace manufacturing company has successfully transitioned its Sri City facility from ground-breaking to active production in a record eight months, with the first batch of precision-machined aerospace components already manufactured and shipped to Sigma’s UK operations for final verification ahead of delivery to the customer.

Bengaluru-based Pizza Bakery owner Popo Global raises Rs 532 crore in funding from Artal Asia

Popo Global, the Bengaluru-based company behind gourmet food brands The Pizza Bakery, Paris Panini and Smash Guys, has secured Rs 532 crore from global investment firm Artal Asia for a significant minority stake, the company said on September 10. The investment comes months after Moneycontrol was the first to report in April that Popo Ventures was looking to sell a stake worth Rs Rs 550-600 crore in the business at a valuation of around Rs 1,300-1,350 crore.

Karnataka woos Bayer, Philips, Royal Swinkels for investments

Karnataka industries minister MB Patil held discussions with global companies Bayer, Philips and Royal Swinkels in the Netherlands on Friday, seeking to deepen their investment and manufacturing presence in the state, the industries department said in a statement. Patil is leading a delegation to the Netherlands to attract industrial investments to Karnataka.

US-based biopharma firm opens tech centre in Hyderabad

US-based biopharmaceutical company MSD on Thursday inaugurated its 2.5 lakh sq ft Technology Centre at Hitec City, Hyderabad, with IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu opening the facility. The centre will be part of MSD’s global technology network and support its Human Health business through enterprise technology solutions and digital capabilities, according to a release.
