Happy April,
Congratulations to our #1 rated state FFA program, Zach Morris, Elyse Buysse and students, on another great year of competition at the state FFA Convention. The following teams finished with top place finishes:
State Champion: AG CSI
State Champions: AG Impact
Gold State Runner Up: Ag Issues
Gold 3rd Place: Program of Activities
Gold 4th Place: Parliamentary Procedure
Also, you may have noticed several trees planted around the ELC and along the trail near the activities complex. This was made possible by a DNR grant applied for by our high school instructional coach Melia Larson. Over 60 trees were planted by our students in honor of Earth Day. There might have been a few blisters by the end of the day, but the trees really look great! Thank you students, Mrs. Larson and all who helped!
Last, I'd like give a big shout out to our Counseling Department as they received the American College Application Campaign School of Excellence Award, as well as Marci Goulette for receiving the Iowa State Education Support Person of the Year award, and also Sheila Polman who recently received the KCRG A+ for Education Award. The West Liberty CSD has a lot to be proud of!
Have a great April!
GO COMETS!!
