Dear Weymouth Public Schools' Community,

It was a another great week across the district! On Monday, October 2nd we were excited to welcome Executive Chef Tyler Doktor from The Jetty in Marshfield to come and speak to our Chapman students in Ms. Mitchells culinary class. We have linked a video below for you to enjoy. Thank you to the Chapman Community Journalism class in conjuction with the Wildcat Media Club for this video.

As a reminder, Tuesday, October 10th is a no school day for students while our educators participate in profressional development.

I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend, and the students return refreshed and ready for learning on Wednesday, October 11th.

Best Regards,

Robert Wargo

Remembrance Ceremony for John Gillion

Please join the British and Commonwealth Remembrance Project, Mayor Hedlund and the Weymouth Veterans Council for a Remembrance Ceremony for John Gillion.

October 13, 2023

1:00 pm

Ashwood Cemetery (across the street from Tufts Library)

36 Broad Street, Weymouth, MA 02188

John Gillion was a 10 year old Surgeon's Assistant and Drummer Boy at the Battle of Waterloo in 1814. John survived that day and moved to Weymouth where he lived most of his life. He is buried with his wife, here in Weymouth.

After the Pipes play, the wreath is laid, words spoken, and our anthems echoes are gone, there will be an informational reception across the street at Tufts.
