Volunteer Badge Info
Today our staff reviewed all reusable volunteer badges kept in the grey bin near the office window. If you are a regular volunteer whose photo ID has not been scanned recently, you may find that your badge has been removed. To ensure you have an updated badge, please bring a photo ID with you on your next volunteer shift so we can scan it and issue a replacement.

Colorado READ Act Parent Surveys K-3
Hello,
We would like to hear from parents about your child's experience with the Colorado READ Act and its observed impact.
As you may know, the Colorado READ (Reading to Ensure Academic Development) Act provides funding and a framework for improving literacy outcomes for kindergartners through third graders, particularly those with “Significant Reading Deficiencies” (SRDs) who are at risk to not read at grade level by third grade. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has been working with WestEd and its partners to conduct a legislatively mandated evaluation of the READ Act since March 2020.
The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses will be kept confidential.
- We are only asking you to complete the survey if your child has ever been identified as having a significant reading deficiency (SRD) and/or has ever been given a READ plan.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this parent survey. We greatly appreciate your time and willingness to share your experience. Please click on the link below to participate in the survey: https://westedk12enterprise.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6Vg7ME5659uoRLg
School Information
Halloween Parade
Get your cameras ready! We are excited to host our annual Halloween parade and festivities next week. Here are the details for the big day on Friday, October 31st:
Costumes & Parade
Students are invited to come to school dressed in their Halloween costumes! *Remember, no blood, gore, or weapons.
Our all-school parade will begin at 8:55 AM. Parents and families are welcome to join us and watch.
Outdoor Plan: Students will parade outside the Kindergarten doors and circle the blacktop areas. This will be the best place for families to line up and watch.
Weather Contingency Plan: If the weather is too cold or wet, we will move the parade indoors. In this case, parents will be invited to watch the parade from the gym. We will make a final call that morning.
A Note for Classroom Party Volunteers
If you are one of our wonderful parent volunteers helping to set up a classroom party, we have an important request.
To keep the parade route clear and safe for all students, all party setup MUST be completed either:
After school on Thursday, October 30th
Before the bell rings on the morning of October 31st
Thank you for helping us make this a fun and smooth event for everyone. We can't wait to see all the creative costumes!
Halloween Costume Reminders
- NO FAKE BLOOD OR WEAPONS OF ANY KIND. Students may wear masks during the parade and party. Students will be asked to change back into regular school clothing after the parade so please make sure students have clothing underneath for an easy transition.
- Parents MUST enter the building through the front door for class parties and sign in.
- Parents may choose to wear costumes to the party, however, please keep in mind that scary costumes are not appropriate for our school environment.
- Adults should not wear any type of mask as we need to be able to identify everyone in the building.
