Spring is Near
The end of 3rd quarter, the beginning of Spring and Spring break are all fast approaching! The year is just flying by and before you know it, we will be saying it is near the end of the year. We all know how hard it is to focus when it is warming up outside. Please help to encourage your student to stay focused and finish not just this quarter but the next strong! Plus, we know that we have some colder days ahead of us still!
Enjoyed the extended evening in daylight and let's have a great rest of the quarter!
GO EAGLES!!!
Staff Changes
As many of you have heard, Mrs. Eaton is retiring after the end of this school year. March 30, the training of her replacement will begin. Please welcome Mrs. Kim Hockenberry to the high school flock! While change is hard, we are excited about the ones we have coming and the team we are building in the high school office.

Final Forms
If you and your student have already completed Final Forms, Thank you! If you have not, we need all students and parents to complete Final Forms as soon as possible. We do have a few stragglers. It will help us immensely to assure we have the best possible information. This is true for students that attend Penta as well as those who are here in the building.
Parking Permits
If you plan on having your student drive to school, please complete all necessary documents in Final Forms. The fee for the parking tag is $5.
Parking permits will be able to be purchased at any point during the school year , should your student begin driving later in the year, or acquires a car they can drive daily. They will be available in the office throughout the year. The fee will just have to be paid at the time the permit is purchased. The student will NOT be permitted to purchase a parking permit until the forms are completed in Final Forms by both parent and student. Please note that Deputy Cooper has been making a regular sweep of the parking lot to assure cars parked in our lots have tags, or are just there for a short time.
From the School Nurse!
With all the illness going around, and some of them keeping students out multiple days, please take a look at this and keep it in mind when debating about sending your student to school.
Testing Schedule - Please note some changes
The State Mandated Spring Testing time frame is fast approaching. We have had to make some changes in our testing dates since we sent them to you with the last grade card. So, we are going to give you the schedule again.
We also want to let you know that on those days, we will be operating on a 2 hour delay schedule. What does this mean? Those that are testing are to arrive at their normal time. Those that have transportation must arrive before 9:45. The buses will be running on time, so will be dropping students off at the high school around 7:15. If your student has no other transportation, whether they are testing or not, please send them on the bus. We will accommodate those students until testing is complete and it is time for classes.
The new testing schedule will be as follows:
Students currently taking Honors English 10 or English 10 - Test Dates: April 14 & 16
Students currently taking Honors Biology or Biology - Test Dates: April 22
Students currently taking American Government (NOT POLS) - Test Date: April 29
Students currently taking Honors American History or American History - Test Date: April 29
Students currently taking Algebra 1, Algebra B, Honors Geometry or Geometry - Test Dates: May 4 & 5
These assessments will begin at 7:45. Please assure that your students are timely. And, again, if they do not have transportation to join us after the 2 hour delay, they should ride the bus and be here at the scheduled time of 7:15.

Senior Immunizations
Meningitis is an inflammation of the protective layer around the brain and spinal cord. This disease can be fatal or leave those who survive it with permanent disabilities. The meningococcal vaccine is the best way to avoid meningitis.
Section 3313.671 of the Ohio Revised Code states that students who do not provide documentation of this immunization are subject to exclusion from school.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding immunizations, please contact Dannelle Sutton, RN, School Nurse at dsutton@eastwoodschools.org or call the Ohio Department of Health Immunization Program hotline at 800-282-0546, or visit the ODH website.

Please see information above reference upcoming 2 hour delays and testing
Medication
Finals Forms has provided some confusion in regards to medication for our students. If your student will need to take medication at school, be it prescription or over the counter, you will need to print out the appropriate form on Final Forms, complete it and send it in to school. You will also need to provide a bottle of medication in its original container. We do not have medication (Tylenol, Advil, etc) to give to students.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the office and speak to the secretaries.
Free and Reduced Applications
Fees - IMPORTANT REMINDER
This is a policy that is set by the board and the secretaries will be adhering to it. If you have a balance, please make arrangements to pay the fees via PaySchoolCentral with a credit card, or in the office with exact cash or a check.
If you would like a copy of the policy, please contact the office and Mrs. Eaton or Mrs. Brown will be happy to provide it to you.
For our families of Seniors: It is also part of board policy that Seniors will not be issued their diplomas until all fees are paid and community service is completed. If you need to set up a payment plan, it is suggested you do this early in the year to ease the burden in May. Please contact Mrs. Jody Eaton to do so at jeaton@eastwoodschools.org or call her at the office at 419-833-3611.
