Fisher Family Update
June 13, 2025

Dear Fisher Families,
As we close out another wonderful school year, we want to extend congratulations to our 5th graders on their Moving On Ceremony! These students are the first class I’ve had the privilege of watching grow from Kindergarten all the way through to 5th grade. They will always be a special group to me. It’s been an incredible journey, and I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them. Following the ceremony, we celebrated our 5th graders one last time with a schoolwide Clap Out! It’s a special tradition where our younger students and staff cheer them on as they walk around the building to loud cheers and applause.
Wishing all of our students and families a joyful, restful, and safe summer! We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall.
Please note that our office will have limited hours during the summer months. If you need to reach us, the best way is by email. You can find all staff email addresses on our school website.
Have a great summer!

Summer Literacy and Math
Summer Literacy and Math have been linked directly to Fisher School's Student Resources page.
Engaging in reading throughout the summer months helps students of all ages build their knowledge of the world, learn new vocabulary, and practice their word solving skills. This helps them feel prepared and confident when entering the next grade in the Fall. Check out the WPS Summer Elementary Literacy Site (linked into our school's student homepage) for book recommendations, tips, and ways students can share what they are reading this summer. Also be sure to visit the Walpole Public Library, where students can "level up" by tracking their reading minutes and earn prizes. Happy Reading :)
Fisher Retirees
As we close out the school year, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank four exceptional members of the Fisher School team for their dedicated service to our students and families:
Sherril Potash, Physical Therapist
Deborah Boush, Literacy Specialist
Sheila Ciechanowski, Education Support Professional
Pam Peckinpaugh, School Psychologist
Each of these individuals has made a meaningful and lasting impact on our school community. Their care, expertise, and unwavering commitment to student success have been evident in everything they do. Whether supporting academic growth, promoting physical development, providing emotional support, or helping students access learning in new ways, they have helped shape Fisher into the warm, inclusive, and supportive school we are proud to be.
On behalf of the entire Fisher community—thank you, Sherril, Deborah, Sheila, and Pam. You will be greatly missed, and your contributions will not be forgotten!
5th Grade Class Gift
The class of 2025 is proud to present their class gift to Fisher School. Every 5th grade student contributed to the courtyard mural with their painted handprint. The class hopes that future students at Fisher will enjoy viewing the mural for years to come. The 5th grade would especially like to thank Mrs. Matos who worked so hard at making the mural happen and contributing her artistic talents. They would also like to thank Mr. Gillis, Mr. Sousa and Mr. Cruz for their assistance in the courtyard cleanup. The class appreciates the Walpole High School National Art Honor Society who helped with the painting and lastly Rocky's Hardware who were extremely generous in donating paint for the project.
Keep Growing, Keep Shining. Your Future is Bright!
