DCA Presents: WIN Workshop Series

How do our everyday choices impact the planet and what can we do differently? Join Veronica Apecena, founder of Joyful Jarra, a refillery and sustainable goods shop with two storefronts and a mobile presence across metro Atlanta. Inspired by her abuela’s eco-conscious lifestyle, years living abroad, and a deep love of nature, Veronica created Joyful Jarra to make low-waste living approachable, affordable, and joyful.

In this hands-on session, students will explore the world of sustainable goods, circularity, and reuse. Veronica will share real-world examples from her business to show how refillable products, compostable materials, and small daily swaps can make a big impact. Students will learn how circular systems keep materials in use longer, why reuse beats recycling, and how thoughtful choices can create ripple effects across communities.

We are offering two WIN Workshop sessions on Wednesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 29 during WIN time (10:11–11:41 AM). Students should select which session they plan to attend using the Google Form link provided.

This session will inspire students to think critically about consumption and empower them to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable and inclusive future. 🌿
