Principal Message
Hello Families!
Hope you all had a restful weekend! This Thursday we have our curriculum night at 6pm. You can learn more by clicking here!
We’ve are officially at the halfway point of the first quarter! Now’s a great time to check in with your student about their grades and attendance and set a few goals together to finish the quarter strong.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Throughout the month, students will be learning how to recognize, respond to, and report bullying during their SOAR Squad lessons. We encourage you to keep these important conversations going at home, too! Students can always reach out to a trusted adult or fill out the SOAR Report Form, which is linked on their Schoology class pages and at the bottom of this newsletter.
A huge shout-out to our 8th graders for making the most of their camp experiences! Whether they were at Camp Orkila or exploring our city, they made new connections, strengthened friendships, and came back with a confidence and sense of unity that we can already feel around the building. Next up: 6th grade camp! Check out the details below.
Take care and please reach out with any questions or concerns along the way!
Have a great week, and Go Ravens!

October 15, 2026 - The Great Washington Shake Out
Oct. 15 is International Shake Out day, and at 10:15 am our ravens will join millions of people worldwide participating in an earthquake drill. The drill provides an opportunity for students to practice what to do in an earthquake - Drop! Cover! Hold on!
If your family would like to practice or participate at home here is some information - https://www.shakeout.org/downloads/ShakeOut_individualsfamilies.pdf
This year, more than 120 Washington tsunami sirens along the inner and outer coast will be tested using real wailing sound of the tsunami warning, not the Westminster Chimes that are usually usded in monthly tests. There will also be a test of the Emergency Alert System on radio and tv.
If you have the MyShake earthquake app, you may receive an alert on Oct. 15 shortly after 10:15a.m.
