Dear Glacier Peak Families,

School starts this Tuesday, and our staff is buzzing with excitement to welcome your children back. This year’s theme is Rooted to Rise – Grounded in Belonging, Growing in Purpose, Rising in Unity. We believe when our students feel they belong, they grow as learners and leaders, and together, we rise as a community.

To help you stay connected, please download our new communication app before Tuesday. This will be our main hub for updates, events, reminders, and last-minute changes from each teacher. No more chasing emails or wondering what’s going on.

Before the first day, take a moment to review the information below, refresh yourself on drop-off and pick-up routines, and pack that first-day energy along with their backpack.

See you Tuesday,
Jeanna Costa
Principal, Glacier Peak Elementary

We can't wait to welcome your Grizzlies back to school!

Hug & Go Lane Procedures Hug & Go Lane Procedures

Glacier Peak is a neighborhood school, and with fewer than 50 bus riders, most families can walk. Walking is the safest and most recommended option. Plus, it’s free cardio.

If you do drive, please remember to pack your patience along with your child’s backpack. Safety is our top priority, and that means following these rules every time:

  • Pull all the way forward, even if it means passing the door your student uses. We have staff ready to help them get where they need to go.

  • Have your child ready to hop out quickly once you’ve stopped. Backpacks on, goodbyes said.

  • Once the door is shut, keep moving by following the car in front of you to the exit.

  • Do not park or get out of your car in the drop-off lane. If you need to help your child out or want that extra hug, please park in a spot and walk them in.

  • Do not stop early so your child is right at “their” door. This creates dangerous traffic situations.

Our staff outside are there to help, so you can truly drop and go. Following these steps keeps every Grizzly safe, and keeps the pick-up/drop-off line moving faster than a snow day announcement.

Pick-up

Kindergarten- During the first week you will need to park and walk up to pick up your student in the fenced area. After the first week teachers will bring each class down close to the sidewalk.

1st-2nd grade - The teachers will bring each class down to the sidewalk and the students wait with the teacher until the adult is located whether that is in the car or in -person. We ask that parents stay down on the sidewalk. If you are in your car, DO NOT GET OUT.

Class List and Online Check-in Class List and Online Check-in

Class lists in Infinite Campus

Parents are able to see who their child's teacher is in Infinite Campus(IC). However, our registrar has been nonstop enrolling for two weeks now. We work hard to balance classrooms and in terms of boy/girl, numbers, academics and needs. So occasionally you will notice that the teacher has been changed.

At Glacier Peak, we do not accept teacher requests because we believe in all of our teachers and value what each offers to our students. We are working to update our staff profiles on our website so you can learn more about your child's teacher.

Mill Levy Override Mill Levy Override

Shortchanged- Our Students Deserve Better

As a result of inadequate state funding, Adams 12 Five Star Schools had to cut $27.5 million and eliminate approximately 150 jobs for the 2025-2026 school year. Our students deserve better.

In November, voters will have the opportunity to pass a mill levy override (MLO), which would give the district much-needed funding for safety, world-class staff and academic programming. Learn more.
