Elgin ISD E-Newsletter
I hope you are all enjoying what is left of the summer! We are hard at work preparing for the start of the school year, and we can’t wait to welcome our students on August 12!
The dates and times of our “Meet the Teacher” events are listed below. Registration forms must be completed before you can receive your child’s teacher assignment and/or schedule. Please be sure to complete those forms before your campus’s event so that your teacher and schedule information will be ready for you. As a reminder, the information collected in these forms is vital to ensuring our students have a safe, healthy school experience. Detailed instructions about registration can be found below.
Our school supply lists for elementary, intermediate, and middle schools may be found on our website. Thank you for providing supplies as you are able; if purchasing school supplies creates a financial burden, then please let your campus office know. With help from our community, we will be sure every student has what they need for school.
I would also like to encourage you to start thinking about “school mode.” Soon students will have to start getting up earlier, working together with classmates, and focusing on growing their learning every day. Set goals now for great attendance and grades, and encourage thinking about reading and math even before school starts. For our younger learners, simple things like practicing multiplication facts while riding in the car or turning on the subtitles when watching television can encourage success in reading and writing.
All of our staff is excited to partner with you, our parents and families, to ensure that our students are receiving the very best education. The 2026-2027 school year is going to be our best year yet!
As always, thank you for sharing your children with us.
Dr. Stormy Hickman
Interim Superintendent of Schools
