Dear Runyan Families,

The countdown is on—Runyan is almost ready to welcome our Roadrunners back! 🎉 We can’t wait to greet our students and families at Meet the Teacher Night (details in the fliers below). This year holds so much promise, and with our amazing community, there’s no limit to what we can achieve. Let’s make this the year we move mountains together!

As we begin sharing updates about all things Runyan, this newsletter will serve as your one-stop shop for the most important dates and information. If you ever need more details or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

Returning Students:

If you are a returning Roadrunner, please be sure to complete your child's yearly registration verification (InfoSnap). You should have received an email from the district. If you did not, be sure to check your spam folder. You can find directions linked below on how to update your child's registration. As of today, August 29th, we still have about 70 students who have not completed their verification yet, which means this will need to be done at school during Meet the Teacher Night. Do not wait. Complete this ASAP to avoid waiting in line to get your teacher assigned.

Meet the Teacher Night:

PK and Kinder Families: There will be a presentation starting at 3:30 PM. Please arrive on time so you don’t miss this valuable information.

1st–4th Grade Families: Meet the Teacher will be from 5:00–6:30 PM.

Remember: all students should bring their backpack to Meet the Teacher Night!

Connecting with Families:

Our teachers will continue to contact families via email/phone call on Monday August 11th for those students who have completed their registration verification.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook. We post updates, reminders, and campus happenings. @RunyanCISD

We are looking forward to see you soon!

Anel Salas, Principal

REGISTRATION VERIFICATION for returning students REGISTRATION VERIFICATION for returning students

Conroe ISD has sent an email to all parents of students that were enrolled, last school year, to verify their students enrollment for the 2025-26 school year. Also, this gives you the opportunity to update all of your information (email, address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, etc.).

IMPORTANT: Students will be assigned a teacher only after completing the verification process.

Currently, about 87% of our returning students have completed verification—thank you!

We still have around 70 students who have not, which means this will need to be done at school during Meet the Teacher Night. Do not wait. Complete this ASAP to avoid waiting in line to get your teacher assigned.

Please check your email and spam mail for this very important link, Snapcode, and process so that your child is accounted for. The link to the Registration Verification can also be accessed by clicking HERE.

First Day of School First Day of School

Arrival:

  • Parents are welcome to walk their student to class on the first day of school only.
  • Remember students should enter by themselves starting day two.

Parking:

  • Parents walking with their child to class, must park in the back parking lot. You’re also welcome to use the church parking lot across from the school’s parking lot on 7th Street (see map below).
  • For everyone’s safety, please do not park in front of the school and cross the car rider line. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!

Backpacks:

  • Students should bring their backpack every day to school.
  • They should have two backpack tags (Smart tag and regular tag).
  • It's important to keep both tags attached to their backpack as we use them for dismissal daily.
  • When students do not have a tag, they slow down our dismissal procedures resulting in late buses or waiting longer in car rider line.

Cell phone use during car rider line :

  • For the safety of all our students and staff, we kindly remind you to refrain from using your cell phone while in the car rider line. Distracted driving can lead to accidents, and we want to ensure that dismissal time is as safe and efficient as possible.
  • Please remain focused on the road and on the surroundings as you wait to pick up your child. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping us maintain a secure environment for everyone. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

School Hours:

  • School hours are 7:55 to 3:10 again this year.
  • Instruction will begin promptly at 7:55. Students who arrive after 7:55 will be counted tardy.
  • Doors open at 7:25 the first three days.

Tardy Students

  • After the first week of school, students must arrive before 7:55AM to be on time to class.
  • Students arriving after 7:55AM must be checked in by a parent or guardian in the front office.
  • Students eating breakfast at school should arrive no later than 7:45AM

Early Start:

  • In an effort to reduce volume on the morning car rider line and to support parents needing earlier drop off, limited staff will be available to receive students starting at 7:10 AM on Monday, August 18th.
  • Students will sit in the cafeteria and wait until regular arrival time at 7:25. They will then be released to eat breakfast or go to class.
  • Please unload your student as we will have limited staff at the door.
  • Students with behavior struggles or needing high levels of supervision should not be dropped off at 7:10 AM and should wait until normal drop off at 7:25AM.

Dismissal:

  • Dismissal will begin early the first couple of days of school.
  • Please be patient as we work through our car rider line process, as parents learn the traffic pattern, and as bus drivers learn their routes.
  • All car riders will need the 25-26 car rider sign.
  • Our number one priority is for all students arrive to and from school safely.
  • Parents can request additional car rider signs, these will be placed in students' backpacks after the second week of school.

Lunch Visitors:

  • To allow our students to get acclimated to school and to learn procedures, we will not have any lunch visitors until August 25th.
  • Parents are welcome to sign up to come and eat with their child using the same procedures as last year.

School Meals:

  • Lunch will not be free for students, unless your family qualify.
  • Remember to apply online for free and reduced lunch. Even if your child qualified last year, you need to re-apply every year. APPLY HERE: https://www.myschoolapps.com/

Car Rider Information Car Rider Information

zoom_out_map

Our car rider line will begin accepting students into the building at 7:25 a.m. the first three days. If you choose to walk your child to campus on the first day, please park on the back and walk your child to the front doors at the main entrance. One of our staff members will be there to welcome your student into the building.

If you are running late, staying in the car rider line is the most efficient and safe way for your child to arrive. For safety purposes, do not walk across the car rider line. This keeps traffic moving and prevents children from walking in between vehicles. Parents who are dropping their children in the car rider line are focused on their child exiting their vehicle and may not be aware of children crossing.

To ensure an efficient flow of traffic, please have your child ready to exit your vehicle. Students should have their needed items easily accessible. Please have your child ready to exit the passenger side of your vehicle. This is the safest and most efficient way for your child to exit. All parents should remain inside their vehicle.

Walkers Walkers

Walkers are defined as students who will be walking to school instead of riding in a car. For safety, all walkers should use the school sidewalks and enter through the main entrance.

Bus Information Bus Information

Click the link below to register for the bus and to find out your child’s bus number. We recommend you complete this process even if you think your child will not ride the bus.

Please allow up to 3-5 days for your child's route to take effect. At the beginning of the year the volume of route changes are higher than normal therefore we appreciate your patience.

Conroe ISD APP Communication Conroe ISD APP Communication

We’re excited to start using a new APP called Conroe ISD TX APP for all two-way communication between families and teachers.

We’ll start slowly to make sure everyone gets comfortable. Please use Rooms for communicating with your child’s teacher—our goal is for all teachers to be fully using Rooms by September 26th, right after Open House.

You can still use email as usual, but please note that other apps like Dojo and Remind will no longer be used for classroom communication.

Thank you for helping us make communication easier and more effective!

Our new Runyan Website is available and information is also available in the Conroe ISD app! This app will take the place of all classroom and school communication for the 2025-2026 school year. It provides parents the opportunity to toggle between different schools in one location and will allow two-way communication with teachers.

  • Download the new Conroe ISD app in your device’s app store and begin customizing the pages and news you want to see.

Additionally, in the coming weeks, you will receive information about our new mass communication system called Alerts. Be on the lookout for texts from 98900 when the new system is implemented. Emails and texts may have a slightly different look, but they’ll still contain all the great information we share. These transitions are part of a bigger initiative to bring efficiency to the District’s communication platforms, and there are more exciting updates to come!

Free Breakfast for the 25-26 School Year Free Breakfast for the 25-26 School Year

We are excited to announce that for the 2025–2026 school year, all students at Runyan Elementary School are eligible to receive a free breakfast at school each day, regardless of household income.

This is a statewide effort to ensure children begin the school day well-nourished and ready to learn. We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity to support their child’s health and academic success.

Please note: Please note that lunch will not be free unless your family qualifies. We strongly encourage parents to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application online. This determines eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch meals. Www.myschoolapps.com
