Each year DRJHS staff members dress up for Halloween to raise funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in the name of Nikki's Hope Foundation. Students contribute to the staff costume of their choice, raising the money. Check out the costumes of the participating staff members ! Thank you Rattlers!

Yearbook Advisor Jeanette Lockwood and her amazing yearbook staff create award winning yearbooks each year. They are then compared to all yearbooks in the state that are grade 7-12, so they are up against high school yearbooks and staffs. The 2023-2024 Desert Ridge Junior High School yearbook (View From The Ridge, La Cresta 2024) was recognized by the AIPA (Arizona Interscholastic Press Association) as the top book in the state of Arizona with 64 areas of distinction, a state record. The next closest yearbook was with 48 distinctions. The national recognitions will come out sometime in February. We are so proud Ms. Lockwood and her incredible yearbook staff! We cannot wait to see how this yearbook does at the national level, and what the new yearbook staff have planned for this year's book.

DRJH offers tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday in the Library from 3:30 to 4:30pm and Transportation is provided for in boundary students. As well as, the Math department also provides daily tutoring. Students can go to any of these Teachers, it does not have to be their own.
