Weekly Tiger Roar #11
Week of October 30th
REMINDER!!!!!!
Trunk or Treat
Hope everyone had fun at Trunk or Treat last week.
A huge thank you to our PTO for all their hard work. Please remember all they do for our students.
Also ta huge shout out to our bus company Tellstone & Son Inc., but even more to our local representatives and bus drivers for joining in the fun to make the event all the more exciting.
Important Reminders!
Required Forms
- Please send in notes for your student regarding any change in dismissal or if they are departing early.
- Please do not park in assigned staff parking spaces at any time.
Important Notices Regarding Buses!
- During pick up the bus will not make a second stop at the front of the school to pick up students that "missed" the bus in the back. Parents will have to pick up students at the school
- Please talk to your student about the importance of listening to the end of the day announcements.
- Primary and Elementary School students need to be met at the bus stop.
- For safety reasons, the buses will not be dropping students off on the second pass. The planned stop is the safest location for a child to get off the bus and, in most cases, is on the same side of the road as the house. Waiting for the second pass can put the child at risk when crossing the street.
- Drivers have been instructed to bring students back to school if they are not met at the planned stop.

Only Water and in Secure Containers
Please send your student(s) into school with only water and in a non breakable container. We have had numerous spills with non-water drinks requiring extra cleaning. Students should be drinking water during the school day. The container should not be made of glass or other fragile material.
Substitutes Needed
Douglas Elementary School is looking for caring, dependable individuals interested in serving as substitute teachers throughout the school year. Substitute teaching is a great opportunity to support our students, work alongside our terrific DES staff, and make a positive difference in our school community.
If you are interested in learning more about substitute teaching opportunities at DES, please contact the Principal, Mr. Haynes at khaynes@douglasps.net.
We would love to have you join our DES team!

DES PTO
The PTO is looking for parent volunteers to assist with PTO sponsored events! The PTO helps out our school TREMENDOUSLY by sponsoring activities, fun family nights, field day, in school enrichments and even helps fund student rewards and prizes throughout the year. They couldn't do all that they do without the help of parent volunteers. We also have a few parents whose children are aging out of the elementary school in the next year, so we need parents to fill their spots. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Katie Wall at DouglasSchoolsPTO@gmail.com.
The PTO serves both the Primary and Elementary school. Below is a link to their webpage.
