Good afternoon, Cardinal Families!

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! I hope you’re as excited as we are to kick off a new year of learning, growth, and connection. Our staff has been hard at work preparing meaningful experiences to set every student up for success from day one. Congrats to our students and staff! We had a WASC accreditation visit last school year, and we passed with flying colors! What does that mean? We are able officially recognized by the state of California to issue a valid diploma.

If you haven’t already, please complete the online Data Confirmation and return the signed Master Agreement. Please note the updates to the master agreement contract. (attached below)

Student classes will not be activated until both are submitted. Once these steps are complete, your student’s teacher will reach out on Monday to schedule individual and group meetings. Even if you see classes in Edgenuity, please DO NOT begin until you are contacted by your teacher. Classes are still subject to change.

Meeting Schedule Reminders:

  • Grades K–8: Students will continue with daily classroom meetings and a weekly one-on-one session.

  • Grades 9–12: Students will continue with weekly online classroom meeting on Wednesdays and an individual meeting with their teacher.

Both the group and individual meetings are required parts of the independent study program, as noted in the school handbook and master agreement. Also, please remind your student to check their email regularly, as that’s the main way teachers will stay in touch.

Make sure all contact information in AERIES is accurate—important updates and announcements are sent out often. You can also stay in the loop by following us on Facebook, Instagram, and visiting our school website for the latest news and events.

Laptop Pickup: We will continue issuing laptops until 3:00 PM daily. If your student hasn’t picked up their device or needs to exchange an older one, please stop by ASAP. School officially starts Monday, and a working laptop is essential!

Student Success Center: Our student success center is open again starting on 8/19 for the school year. The hours are 10am -2pm, Monday through Friday.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic and productive school year. Let’s soar, Cardinals!

Warmly,
Annabelle Lee

Academic Tips - Time Management Academic Tips - Time Management

Time-Management Tip: Make To-Do Lists.

Each day make a list of all the things you need to do. Focus on one task at a time, and cross things off as they get done. At the end of each day, take the tasks that didn’t get done and put them on the next day’s To-Do list.

Time-Management Tip: Make a weekly schedule.

Each Sunday evening, take time to plan out the coming week. Make sure that you have enough time to do everything that’s scheduled.

Time-Management Tip: Use time wisely.

Use free time in school to start on homework. You’ll have a lot less work to do at night. Also look for chunks of time during the day that are wasted. Think about how you can use these times more effectively.

Time-Management Tip: Control time wasters.

Social media, TV, and video games can all be huge time wasters. Schedule small chunks of time for these activities, and stick to your schedule.

Time-Management Tip: Don’t overextend yourself.

If you’re doing more than you can handle, identify activities you can eliminate, shorten, or postpone. Do not give up sleep to get everything done.

Time-Management Tip: Create routines.

Having a good morning and nighttime routine will save you time, and help your day run more smoothly. Have a morning routine that includes getting up early enough to eat breakfast and not be rushed.
