Welcome to the very first Peek of the Week of the 2026–2027 school year! We are incredibly busy at school getting everything ready to welcome our young scholars. Classrooms are being deep-cleaned, floors are being waxed, and minor repairs are underway. Behind the scenes, we are also busy reviewing our curriculum, putting the finishing touches on schedules, and making sure all safety measures are set.

We hope you’re starting to gear up at home, too! To help your child transition back to school, try easing into bedtime routines, chatting about all the fun things ahead, practicing opening lunchboxes (and those tricky food packages!), and reading together every day.

Our first email (Summer Update #1) covered key details about communication, school hours, school supplies, and key dates. You'll see some of that repeated here and that's entirely by design. As busy families, we know a second reminder can be a lifesaver. Along with the repeat reminders, there is also plenty of new information in this issue. Reading these newsletters is incredibly important, and we hope all of this information, alongside our upcoming welcome events, helps you and your student have a smooth, stress-free start at the ECLC.

Registration and Teacher Letters Registration and Teacher Letters

Your registration should be complete. Letters from the teachers will be mailed August 15th. If you don’t receive one, please call Ms. Tracey in the office. We only mail these to families that have registration 100% complete.

With the teacher letter you’ll also receive a school calendar, important events calendar, Home Language Survey and a Student History form. We’ll need the Home Language Survey and Student History Form returned to the office before the first day of school. You can bring them to the Popsicles with the Principal playdate, Meet and Greet or simply drop them off at the office.

ECLC Registration 2026-2027 NEW STUDENTS ONLY

Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks: Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks:

Snack: Every child should come to school with a healthy snack daily.

Kindergarten Lunch: Students may bring lunch from home or buy lunch. We don't have a kitchen here, so all food is prepared at the middle school and brought to the ECLC. You'll receive a menu each month and it's also available online. The cost for lunch is $3.35.

Preschool Snack: Students should bring a snack daily (1-2 food items only) or purchase a SNACK PACK. The Snack Pack includes a yogurt, fruit or vegetable and milk. The cost is $3.35. An order form is sent home a week prior for ordering ahead.

You can find more information on the ECLC web page under Café Services or click https://barrington.linqnutrition.com/

A breakfast program is available. The cost is $2.00. Students eat this in the classroom.

Students can also purchase milk only for $.65.

We do offer Free and Reduced Lunches for qualifying families. An application will be sent home.

Arrival and Dismissal Arrival and Dismissal

There are 2 ways to get your student to school. Car or bus! Car rider drop-off and pick-up loops are used for convenience and safety. A newsletter just about arrival and dismissal will be coming closer to the start of school. Whatever your decision, we encourage you to begin that plan on the first day to help create consistent routines for your student.

Bus Routes Bus Routes

Preschool: Some students qualify to ride the bus in preschool. The bus company will call you with pick up times before school begins.

Kindergarten: Bus routes will be finalized and provided before school starts.

Pick Up Patrol Pick Up Patrol

You'll receive a welcome email from PickUp Patrol closer to the start of school. It is the platform we use for early dismissals and absences. Please set up an account and enter your students' Default Plan (car rider, bus rider, REC aftercare, etc.)

Medical Medical

If your child has an epi-pen, inhaler, or other medications make sure that you provide these items to our nurse, Mrs. Cunningham. These cannot come in student backpacks. If you have any questions please email Nurse Cunningham at kacunnigham@sau74.org or you can call her directly at 603-664-0885 during the school year.

Popsicles with the Principal Popsicles with the Principal

ECLC Popsicle with the Principal Playdate! Everyone is welcome to join us on our playground behind the school on Monday, August 24 from 5-6pm. This is an opportunity to meet other families, let students play on the ECLC playground and meet Mrs. Deely and Ms. Tracey. We are ready to answer any and all questions you may have.

Meet and Greet Meet and Greet

Mark your calendars! On Thursday, August 27, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, we are opening our classrooms for our schoolwide Meet and Greet. Students are invited to come explore their new classrooms, meet their wonderful teachers, find their very own cubby, and say a quick hello to some new friends.

For families, this is also a great opportunity to take care of a few important details before school starts. Feel free to drop off any outstanding paperwork at the main office, hand over any medications directly to the school nurse, or bring in classroom donations your teacher may have requested. Most importantly, we'll be here to answer any questions you may have. We can’t wait to welcome you all!

A Peek at Our Community A Peek at Our Community

The library and Parks and Rec have many great classes, workshops, sports, clubs, arts & crafts, and more for families. Be sure to check them out!

Getting our young scholars involved in local activities is a wonderful way to support their social development. Engaging with the community helps children practice social skills, try new things, and make friends outside of the classroom. Most importantly, when children feel connected to the community around them, it builds a beautiful sense of belonging and confidence that they carry right back into school with them every day!
