Scroll down for important dates, directions on updating forms in Infinite Campus, school supply lists, student meal details, and information about our website and mobile app. We hope this convenient guide makes your back to school prep a little easier!
Teacher Assignment & Bus Rider Information
Check Infinite Campus to see your child's schedule!
Starting Monday, August 3, teacher, class, and schedule information for all students will be available in Infinite Campus (IC). On Friday, August 7, bus information will also be available. We kindly ask parents to double check bus arrival time information the day before school starts. As new students continue to enroll in the district, bus pick up and drop off times are likely to change.
Logging into Infinite Campus
If you do not recall your IC username or have never set up an account, look for an email on the morning of August 3 with the subject: YSSD Message: Parent Student Account Information with those details. If you have multiple children in the District, these emails may be grouped together in your inbox.
Helpful Infinite Campus Links
In addition to access to Infinite Campus, elementary students and their families will receive a message from their child's teacher(s). Teacher messages will be sent in the U.S. mail for Grades K-2 and via email for Grades 3-5. Please check your spam/junk mail folders if you do not see a message in your inbox.
Note from Transportation: Thank you in advance for your patience during the first week of school. As new routines are established in the morning and afternoon, the bus could arrive late. Additionally, while families may request changes to their child's bus schedule, most approved changes will not take effect until August 31.
For those who will be on the roads at the same time as our students, please stop when bus lights are flashing, stay alert as you pass bus stops, and watch for student walkers.
School Supplies
We are committed to providing the necessary items to ensure students receive a quality education in our schools. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, and can use assistance with school supplies, please contact your child's counselor. We can help!
Valley View and Yorkshire Elementary Schools (Grades K-2)
As we have done in previous years, we will provide all basic supplies students will need for learning in kindergarten, first, and second grade. First and second grade students are asked to bring a set of headphones/earbuds for their use in school, and all primary students are encouraged to have a backpack. If you would like to donate items, school staff can always use extra glue sticks, dry erase markers, and crayons.
East York and Indian Rock Elementary Schools (Grades 3-5)
Recommended supply lists are available for intermediate level students. If you cannot provide these items, the District will supply them for your student.
York Suburban Middle School (Grades 6-8)
At the middle school, a basic supply list is available for each grade level. During the first week of school, teachers will notify students of any additional supplies needed or recommended items for their particular class.
- Supply lists can be found posted on the Middle School Teams Webpage
York Suburban High School (Grades 9-12)
On the first day of classes, teachers will provide their students with specific items they may need for the school year.

Updating Back to School Documents in Infinite Campus
Deadline: Tuesday, September 1
Again this year, families are expected to update their child's general information, emergency contacts, communication preferences, and health history in Infinite Campus. Infinite Campus can also be used to pay student fees or purchase a student parking permit. It is very important that your family's contact information be current to ensure we can reach you in an emergency.
For step by step directions on completing these forms, please refer to this parent guide. If you have more than one student in the district, be sure to complete these tasks for each child.
Physical Exam & Immunization Reminder
Physical examinations are required for children upon entry into school, in grade 6, and in grade 11. Additionally, certain immunizations are required for all children attending Pennsylvania schools. The immunization law in Pennsylvania requires that all students have the requisite immunizations by the first day of school unless the child has a medical or religious/philosophical exemption. For a complete list of requirements and related forms, please visit the District's Health Services website.
Updates from Food Services
Student Meal Prices
Breakfast - Free for ALL students
Elementary Lunch - $2.60
Secondary Lunch - $2.85
High School Super Meal - $3.75
Depositing Money Into Your Student's Account
SchoolCafe allows parents to monitor their student’s account balance, view meal purchases, and make online payments. There is no charge to monitor student account information; however, a convenience fee will be charged by SchoolCafe when adding funds. For additional information about setting up a parent account in SchoolCafe, please visit the District website. If parents prefer not to use the online service to deposit funds, money may be added to student accounts by sending cash or checks made payable to “YSSD Food Service Fund” to the school with students or directly to the District's Business Office at the Education Center. Please include your student's name on your payment and allow 48 hours for processing.
Free or Reduced Price Meals
Students may receive free or reduced price meals if their households meet federal income guidelines. For additional information about applying, please visit the District website. As a reminder, families must reapply each year. The application can be completed in SchoolCafe or on the Compass website.
Birthday Celebration and Classroom Snacks (Grades K-5 Only)
Whitsons Culinary Group offers a convenient way for families to provide food and snacks through their Birthday Celebration and Classroom Snacks Service. Services can be easily purchased by completing the online order form and then submitting your payment. Whitsons staff will ensure the food items meet the federal Smart Snack nutritional and allergy requirements/guidelines and distribute the chosen snack to students during their lunch. Please make your request two weeks prior to the celebration date.
Staying Connected: District Communications
New District Website and Mobile App
In April, York Suburban launched a fully redesigned website and mobile app. Our goal is to make it easier for visitors to quickly find the information they need, especially when browsing on their phone or tablet.
To download the mobile app, search for York Suburban SD in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Our app, which integrates with the new website and serves as a one-stop shop for a calendar of events (with the option to add directly to your personal calendar), news, important documents, links to commonly accessed sites, and more.
Use of Student Photos & Interviews
During the school year, there may be times when District staff, building PTOs, or the media would like to photograph students and/or their work to highlight their achievements, school activities, or classroom lessons. While we appreciate the opportunity to feature our students and the activities taking place in our schools, we understand that, for a variety of reasons, parents/guardians may prefer their child not be photographed/videotaped. For additional information about photo and video permissions and how to submit an opt-out request for the 2026-2027 school year, please visit the Communications Department page on the website.
TalkingPoints Text Messaging
TalkingPoints is a two-way communication system that automatically translates text messages between the school and the family. Text messages will come from a phone number that is assigned to the teacher for the year and will include an introductory message the first time it is used. If interested, a TalkingPoints app is also available. Families who wish to opt out of these messages may do so each school year. Please note that opting out may result in missing regular communications from your child's teacher(s) and other important updates. We encourage families to remain subscribed.
First Day Signs
Visiting Our Schools
Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our buildings. Upon entering a District building during the school day, visitors will be asked to present an ID such as a Driver’s License, which can either be scanned or manually entered into the system. If a parent or guardian for any reason does not have a US government-issued ID, a school staff member can use another form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into our visitor management system, Raptor. Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a visitor's badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of their visit. A badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and support. For additional information about District safety measures, please visit the Safety and Security page on the District website.
