Winter Break: Dec 19-Jan 2
We wish our students and families a wonderful, safe winter break. Winter break will be from Monday, Dec 19 through Monday, Jan 2. Students will return to school on Tuesday, Jan 3. Enjoy the holidays!
Season of Giving
During this season of giving, we have reminded our students that gifts don’t have to cost money. In fact, many people say their most precious gifts are gifts from the heart. In our Monday’s Den class, students were asked to complete a 3-week Positive Impact Calendar in which they would identify a kind or thoughtful thing they could do for someone else each day. This activity ties into our Guiding Principles of Belonging and Positive Choices, not to mention Fun! Below are some other school-wide activities our staff and students will participate in before break.
Dec 9: Candy Cane Candy Grams, Popcorn and Spirit Wear
On Friday, our Parent Boosters will be at SMS during lunches. They will be selling candy grams and popcorn to students as well as spirit wear. Families can also purchase SMS spirit wear online here. SMS thanks our Booster parents for their continued support of our students and staff.
Dec 14-16: Holiday Dress Up Days
Dec 14- Winter Wonderland OR wear blue or white
Dec 15- Ugly Holiday Sweater or wear green
Dec 16- Holiday PJ’s/Comfy Clothing or wear red
Dec 16: Winter Music Assembly and 12-Days of Giving
Our winter assembly is a fun send-off into break where students listen to our amazing Bobcat choir and band students, as well as participate in our 12-Days of Giving Bobcat Sing Along. During our sing along, all of our students’ names are placed in a box and a small number of students will have their names drawn and will receive a special gift.
