Kindergarteners will be working on steady beat, Loud/soft, Voice recognition, and Responsorial singing. Ask your kindergartener to pat the steady beat to songs in the car!
1st Graders will be working on the Rhythm of the words, Ta, Titi, Rest, and the Heartbeat of music. Ask your 1st grader to clap the rhythm of household items.
2nd Graders will be working on Half notes, and singing mi, sol, and la. Ask your second grader to show you the hand motions for mi, sol, and la.
3rd Graders will be working on 16th notes, and reading pitches on the staff. Ask your 3rd grader what the lines or spaces of treble clef are.
4th Graders will be working on Singing the full scale and 16th note patterns. Ask your 4th grader to sing and do the hand signs for the entire scale!
5th/6th Gold - The gold class will be exploring music in video games this month!
5th/6th Purple - The Elementary band will be working on learning the first 5 notes.
Gold Band - We will be working on the Armed Forces Medley as well as Ozark 7 Conference music.
Purple Band - We will continue working through our method books and learning new notes. Encourage your students to play at home!
Stomp - This month we will be discussing Marching band and Marching Percussion.
American Popular Music - We will cover Chapter 3 Social Dance and Jazz 1917-1935 and Chapter 4 The Golden Age of Tin Pan Alley Song
