Mundelein High School's CCRC Updates!
IACAC Regional Fair
How can high school students and their parents learn about more than 150 colleges (click to see the list!) and universities in just one location? This year’s Regional College Fair is happening Thursday, October 16th from 6-8 pm. This is a great opportunity for families to begin or continue the college search process by meeting with college representatives, receiving information, and asking questions in person. Don’t be nervous about talking to the reps, this isn’t an interview for admission, but be polite as these wonderful people can be great allies to you during your application process! We also recommend wearing something that represents your school involvement if you have it as it can make you a bit more memorable and it shows that you are involved, a definite positive!
The fair will take place in the Physical Education Center, Building 7, on the CLC Grayslake Campus. In past years, this fair happened in the fall and the spring. This fair is open to all grade levels.
In addition, college financial aid information sessions, presented by staff from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), will take place in Room 706 of the Physical Education Center from 6:30-7 p.m. and 7:15-7:45 p.m.

Students of all grade levels are invited to attend these fairs. We strongly encourage you to register at www.strivefair.com now!
Consider Studying Abroad, While You Are in High School!
CIEE Program on Tuesday, October 21!
We are excited to announce Global Navigator Scholarships for Mundelein HS students to study abroad this summer! This is a rare opportunity for your teen to grow and gain experience for college and beyond. A high school study abroad experience can also be a great topic for their college application essays.
There will be a short presentation for students on October 21st at Mundelein High School in the CCRC (B105) during 3rd and 4th periods to learn more about the opportunities. Students, please register to attend this event in your SchooLinks account if you are interested.
These summer study abroad programs are offered by CIEE, a leader in international education. CIEE has 75 years of experience in international study abroad, handles all aspects of the program and travel, and offers start-to-finish support – insurance, great attention to safety, and 24/7 support lines.
All programs feature educationally aligned programs, designed by curriculum experts and cultural immersion, combined with exciting activities and travel in one of over 30 amazing destinations around the world. Plus, students have the potential to earn the Global Seal of Biliteracy and college credits.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
Completing the FAFSA, Alternative Aid Application, or a waiver, is an Illinois State graduation REQUIREMENT!
Class of 2026: The 26-27 FAFSA is open! Keep in mind that each contributor (student and one or both parents or stepparent, depending upon circumstances) will require their own Studentaid.gov ID, available here. This should be created at least 3 days before completing the FAFSA.
Every Wednesday, our ISAC representative Denver Keske is available in person at MHS to work with our students and parents, right here in our CCRC! She is also available virtually at many other times. Please see the ISAC Room in the MHS Virtual CCRC to find her scheduling links!
Remember that about 270 undergraduate institutions also require the CSS Profile, which also opened on October 1. It is crucial that our students not miss their financial aid deadlines, which will vary by institution and application round.
If you haven’t yet, we strongly encourage you to look at the resources in our Paying For College virtual room. In this space you can also access our FAFSA page for helpful information on completing your FAFSA. We also have access to past presentations (if you missed them) in our Resource Library.
Please review THIS DOCUMENT for more information about this Public Act. Check out our FAFSA Mandate FAQ to find some answers to frequently asked questions.
