Parsons Pirate Update
December 8th, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Parsons Families,
We can't wait to see everyone at the Christmas Parade tomorrow evening at 5:30 pm. All Parsons students are invited to walk with us in the parade. We will meet at City Hall. Dress warm!
Also, we are looking forward to one of the most entertaining nights of the season...our Holiday Concert! A big thank you to Mrs. Arndt and Mrs. Monticello for all of their hard work to make this night a success. Please remember that this event takes place at Carlson High School auditorium. We kindly ask that families stay for the entire portion of the program they are attending (Lower or Upper Elementary). All students have put in great effort and deserve the opportunity to perform for a full audience. Upper Elementary parents, please remember that all students return to the auditorium after the 5th-grade performance for one final combined song.
Sincerely,
Sarah Aherne
Outdoor Recess
Outside recess occurs when the temperature and wind chill are 15 degrees or above. Your child's teacher will continue to message out about outdoor recess by grade level. It is a great time to label those winter items! We do want them to be able to play outside in appropriate gear!
Attendance
Our attendance data is looking pretty good from last year to this year! A big should out to our 5th grade class who has the best attendance in the school!

School Safety
All doors are locked during the school day. If you come to school, you will be buzzed into the foyer area. You will be asked to show identification before your child is released. All visitors/volunteers in the building must report and sign in at the office. Visitors must wear a badge in the school building. All volunteers in the classroom and for field trips must have a background check on file each year. If you have a felony, you may not volunteer for WatchDogs, field trips, or volunteer in the classroom.
Parsons Spirit Wear
Last year we changed to a new company that allows families to order Parsons and Marauder spirt wear all year long! We have some new designs this year. Check them out at this link.
Student Medication and Medication Plans
If your child needs medication to be administered at school or requires a medical plan, please call the school secretary, Ms. Brittany, at 734-379-7050, and set up an appointment ASAP. In your call with her, she will reference paperwork that needs to be completed by your child’s physician. Parson's nursing services documents can be found AT THIS LINK.
Elementary School Handbook
Our school code of conduct serves as a foundational agreement and set of expectations for the entire school community, outlining acceptable and unacceptable behaviors, promoting a positive learning environment, and ensuring safety by defining the rights and responsibilities of students, parents, and staff. The District Elementary Code of Conduct can be found at this link. I have also attached the document below.
