Silver Medalist Paralympian visited FAVE!

On Friday, April 17, 4th and 5th Grade Students welcomed Csilla Kristof to FAVE. Kristof is a Paralympic skier with three silver medals and has competed against some of the best athletes in the world.

Csilla’s journey hasn’t always been easy. She faced challenges that could have made her stop, but instead she chose to keep going, keep practicing, and keep believing in herself. She shared her story and showed us that resilience—getting back up even when things are tough—is something every one of us can learn. A special thanks to the Hill family for making this special event happen!

Decatur WatchFest 26 3v3 Soccer Tournament

Decatur Soccer invites youth ages 5-13 (rising K-8th grade) to register for its 3v3 Soccer Tournament, powered by Decatur WatchFest 26, a fun, flexible, and community-focused event led by DHS soccer players and coaches. Join us Saturday, June 20, 8:30-noon at the Decatur High School Stadium with plenty of parking and just a short walk from the Decatur MARTA Station and Decatur WatchFest.

Kids can form a team of up to five players and sign up at the link below for just $75 per team (payable separately via GoFan). With no uniforms required (pennies provided) and small-sided 3v3 match play run by our DHS players, this format keeps things simple while maximizing touches, engagement, and fun for every player.

The tournament is open to girls, boys, and co-ed teams (co-ed teams will play in the boys bracket), with divisions based on rising school year: K-1, 2-3, 4-5, and 6-8. This is a great way to celebrate Decatur WatchFest and FIFA World Cup 26™ while supporting the Decatur Soccer program, and giving your child a fun soccer experience without a big time commitment. Just gather a group, register here, and show up ready to play!

As we approach the finish line, we are beginning our end of year process. Please encourage scholars to check around the house and at school to locate any books. If payment is needed to replace a book, please email Dr. Macon (erica.macon@csdecatur.net).

FIELD DAY PARENT VOLUNTEERS

FAVE Field Day is Friday, May 15, 2026. FAVE parents are cordially invited to join us again this year for a great day filled with fun games & laughter! Coach Hallman is looking for volunteers to help run stations. You can view the list of volunteer positions using this Sign-Up Genius link:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0D4BAEA72FAA8-63157403-2026#/

It is a long-standing tradition for FAVE students to design their own Field Day t-shirts. Please send a plain white t-shirt to school with your child beginning next week. If you are able to donate extra t-shirts for students in need, 3-packs of Hanes white undershirts can be purchased rather inexpensively and the extras will be distributed. *Donations of fabric paint or permanent markers are also greatly appreciated! Room parents can arrange this with homeroom teachers or drop off at the front desk for Coach Hallman to distribute.

Please check Coach Hallman’s website for up to the minute details and additional information including FAQs: https://hallmanfavepe.weebly.com/field-day.html

Please note Tuesday and Friday are the two days where we do ask for a little extra participation from families!

Run down of Events:

  • Monday: Hollywood Walk of F.Ave! PTO will be welcoming our all-star staff with a red carpet Waffle House catered breakfast!
  • Tuesday: Card day Please have your child bring in a handmade card if possible. The PTO will also be providing gift cards to all of the staff. A portion of the collected funds from the beginning of the year will be allocated for this, however, if you would like to donate more, you can do so HERE
  • Wednesday: Staff Lunch - the PTO will be catering a lunch to celebrate!
  • Thursday: Spa Day - F.Ave teachers will be treated to some relaxation and pampering - including chair massages!
  • Friday: Ice Cream Social! Mr. Thomas will be slinging scoops for all of his staff! He's providing the ice cream, but it would be great if families could pitch in with the toppings! Feel free to send in with your F.Ave student to drop at the front desk any time prior! Sign up HERE!

It is going to be a great week!! Please feel free to email us with any questions: president@favepto.org!
