November 2026 Replacement Levies
Our district is asking voters to consider two replacement levies: an Educational Programs and Operations Levy (EP&O), and a Capital Technology Levy. Both propositions will replace the expiring three-year levies and will be on the ballot for the November 3, 2026 General Election.
The EP&O Levy specifically provides funding for educational programs and operations, and our district uses this local funding to support areas such as athletics, extracurricular activities, music and fine arts, nutrition services, transportation, substitute teachers, and YES officers, among other things.
The Capital Technology Levy provides funding for capital projects, like technology and security and infrastructure improvements. It also helps to support larger technology needs across the district that are not funded by the state. The replacement levy also supports the districtβs refresh cycle by replacing technology as it ages out or loses manufacturer support. With funding from the capital levy, our district continues to keep the learning environment up-to-date for our staff and students.
Voter-approved funding like levies help to cover the gap between what the state funds and what schools and students actually need. For more information about the replacement levies, please visit cheneysd.org or click the QR code.

A Season of Gratitude: A Message from the Principal
Dear Cheney High School Families,
As we turn the calendar to November and bring our first quarter to a close, I find myself reflecting on the many things for which I am grateful. This season reminds us that gratitude is more than simply saying thank you. It is recognizing the blessings in our lives, appreciating the people who walk alongside us, and finding joy in the opportunities we have to make a difference in the lives of others.
As I reflect on my first few months as principal of Cheney High School, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve this remarkable community. I have witnessed countless examples of kindness, generosity, perseverance, and compassion. From students encouraging one another, to teachers going above and beyond, to families and community members generously giving their time and support, I am continually reminded that the strength of our school lies in the people who make it special.
I am especially thankful for our students, who bring energy, curiosity, and purpose to our halls each day; our staff, whose dedication and commitment to young people are evident in countless ways; our families, who entrust us with their children and partner with us in their growth; and our community, whose unwavering support helps make Cheney High School a place where students can learn, belong, and thrive.
There is something powerful about approaching each day with a grateful heart. Gratitude helps us see the good in others, find strength during challenges, and remember that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. As we enter this season of thanksgiving, I encourage each of us to look for opportunities to lift one another up, extend grace, and share our appreciation with those around us. After all, the greatest gifts we give are often the ways we care for and serve one another.
As we conclude our first quarter, I also want to celebrate the hard work and growth of our students. Learning is a journey, and every step forward matters. In the coming weeks, please watch for additional information regarding parent-teacher conferences, an important opportunity to celebrate student progress, strengthen our partnerships, and plan for continued success. With Thanksgiving Break approaching, I hope each of you will also find time to rest, reconnect with loved ones, and enjoy the simple blessings that make life meaningful.
It is truly a privilege to be part of the Cheney High School family. I am grateful for the warm welcome, the relationships we are building, and the shared commitment to making our school the very best it can be.
May this season remind us to be thankful in all circumstances, generous in spirit, and intentional in the way we care for one another.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Caroline White
Principal, Cheney High School
