Greetings Spartan Families,
The week started hot and sunny and gave us the chance to open our new Spartan Café outdoor dining space in the courtyard. Students were excited to use the space, and it quickly became a popular spot...until the surprise snow event on Thursday.
On Friday, we welcomed author Jordan Sonnenblick to our school. Students had the opportunity to participate in a book signing and a writer’s workshop.
We also want to recognize our Science Olympiad team for an excellent performance at the regional competition today. Our students earned medals in 13 of the 23 events and finished in 5th place overall. This strong performance qualified the team for the state competition.
Our STEM AGP teams also competed this week and earned honors that qualified them for the state competition in Harrisburg.
Congratulations to all of our Spartans!
Sincerely,
Ryan Buterbaugh
Principal
Author Jordan Sonnenblick will be visiting Springton Lake on Friday, March 13th. This is a great opportunity for your child to meet a popular author and have a book signed by him.

Spartan Jazz Band at the 76ers Game
The Spartan Jazz Lab and Spartan Jazz Ensemble had the exciting opportunity to perform pregame at the Philadelphia 76ers vs. San Antonio Spurs game on March 3. The students performed a 45-minute set for thousands of fans entering the building while stationed in the Chevrolet Spotlight section of the concourse at the arena. Their energetic performance helped set the tone for the evening as spectators made their way into the game. After their set, students stayed to enjoy the game together. Despite the Sixers coming up short on the scoreboard, the performance and experience made for a memorable and enjoyable evening for all involved.

Please also refer to the school calendar for meeting dates and any rescheduling.
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
