PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY 2025! I hope you and your family had a restful winter break. As we begin the 2nd Semester, we will be focusing on reinforcing important values that contribute to a positive learning environment.

Positive Mindset: Helping students approach challenges with optimism and resilience.

Perseverance: Encouraging students to stay committed to their goals even when faced with difficulties.

Kindness: Promoting kindness and empathy in all interactions with peers and staff.

Positive Behavior Expectations: Upholding respectful and responsible behavior that creates a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement changes with our Arrival and Dismissal procedures. These changes can be found in the newsletter below. Our goal is to provide a secure and welcoming environment for all our students!

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL CHANGES

Starting Monday, January 13, we will be implementing a closed campus policy to enhance the safety and security of our students, staff and community. we will be making changes to our arrival and dismissal procedures.

MORNING ARRIVAL:

The double blue gates will open at 8:00am and only students will be allowed on campus beyond the gates. We will have school personnel waiting on the white line between the gate and cafeteria should a student need support getting to the cafeteria.
Students will walk independently to the cafeteria, where they will be supervised by Administration, a Classroom Teacher, and Morning Expanded Learning teachers
TK and Kindergarten students will sit together at the back tables with Expanded Learning Teachers who will walk them to their class lines on the blacktop and wait with them until their teacher arrives to take them to class.

AFTERSCHOOL PARENT PICKUP:

Students will exit through the gates or line up at their class number along the North-west fence on Valentine until they see their parent. For safety reasons, we kindly ask that non-school personnel adults wait on the Valentine sidewalk for students.
PLEASE NOTE- TK and Kindergarten students will no longer be picked up at the classroom door. Instead the will be escorted by their teachers to the Valentine Gate. Students will be released by their teacher once they visually see parent or guardian.

I understand this is a shift, but we are confident it will benefit Tatarian as the safety and well-being of our school community are our top priorities.

WHY ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT~

Attending school everyday is crucial for our students to contribute to both their academic success and personal development! Here are a few important facts highlighting the importance of consistent school attendance:

Higher Achievement- Consist attendance helps students build a strong academic foundation, which is important for higher education and career readiness.
Positive Interaction with Peers- Tatarian provides a social environment where students can interact with peers, learn teamwork, and develop communication skills. Regular attendance allows students to form and maintain friendships which will enhance their social development.

FAMILY NIGHT @ FRESNO STATE

January 25 @ 4:00 is family night at the FSU Men's Basketball game. Tickets can be pre-purchased through the PTA website and the University will email your ticket the day before the event (no refunds will be issued)
